Check this out, and a ? about absinthe
Go here and you can download mini transit maps of some cities onto your ipod. http://www.isubwaymaps.com/
and also, has anyone on here shipped any absinthe back to the U.S.? I want to send some back from Spain, everything I have read says it isn't illegal.

I've heard a rumor that absinthe will no longer be illegal in the US soon. I'm not sure when, but new studies have shown it doesn't in fact make you go crazy and kill your family.
There are sites online for US absinthe market and how it is progressing. Just search.

Absinthe is not a controlled substance in the US. It is, however, prohibited, and is subject to seizure by Customs. You are not at risk of criminal charges by sending yourself absinthe. If it makes it past Customs, you're good to go.

Ok... I'm going to reveal my naive side... What is so great about absinthe, what does it do?

I just brought 3 bottles of absinthe home from the Czech Republic about 2 weeks ago. We marked on our Customs forms that we bought 3 bottles of souvenir liquor. The agent didn't ask anything else. It wasn't a problem at all. Since Prague was the last place we were, it was easy to throw into the backpack and not worry for awhile. By the way, try to buy it far from the touristy parts of town. I bought one bottle in the center of Prague because i wasn't sure if I could find a place on the outskirts. Boy was i wrong. In a regular convenience store they had tons of it, much bigger bottles for way cheaper. I imagine this is the case everywhere. good luck and don't go crazy (jk).

Okay, just FTR about absinthe...
The majority of Czech absinthe, especially the dirt cheap stuff is licorice flavored rotgut with zero thujone (the "psychoactive" element distilled from wormwood.) content. They are out there, sure, but they aren't the bottles of green liquor you see. In fact, TRUE absinthe is clear in color and takes on a greenish cloudy tint when mixed with water/sugar.
Expect fully to spend upwards of $50 for the real stuff. A friend gets the real stuff here and his bottles are on average $80-100 a pop. And you won't hallucinate- you'll get really stinking drunk but (if its the real deal) have the ability to think remarkably clear. It will, however, give you a righteous hangover.

Its just Well strong!! 70% i think
You cant have too much or it will burn your insides as well as probably giving you alcoholic poisoning, but i had 2 shots once and i had never had such a near narcotic experience with alcohol as i did with this.
Only had it a couple o times.. Good stuff.

Update, got back with a few bottles from Adam. Got to say the people there are super helpful, went to a liquor store off a canal in the red light district during the day. Talked to the guy at the counter and he gave me a 10 min crash course on absinthe. Drank a bottle while there and brought two back. WOooo hoooo. Too bad I couldn't bring other stuff.

The wormwood, or thujone, is actually supposed to make you hallucinate. Not like lsd, or shrooms, but vaguely. I had some strange experiences while polishing off my first bottle. Hard to explain and it was the least of all substances in my system.
