Best Blogging Site???
I'm leaving for my 10month trip in just over 3 weeks and I would like to start up a Blog. I have no Idea what i'm looking at or where to begin, do you have a preference or any recommendations? One relatively easy to use and and must be able to upload photographs. Any advice would be grateful.

The one I have seen people use the most is www.blogger.com

We do have blogs right here on tpunk, so you could check those out!
I use xanga.com and blogger.com for my random blogging...they aren't my ideal if I want a specifically "travel blog" where I can link and classify things by countries etc but they work.

I once had a blog on Blogger.com. It was great. I miss it.

I've been using blogger.com the last 4-months to keep friends and family updated and it's been GREAT. I wouldn't use anything else!

I use WordPress but I would not recommend it unless you are going to host it yourself. Their hosting sucks.

I used travelpod.com - unlimited space for photies, easy to use, and nice maps on which you can plot where you've been :D

ok, I'll ask the "non-computer literate" question: what does it mean when you have your own hosting?

it means you pay for server space. Generally it's around 10 bucks a month. So instead of the main wordpress server running it, you run it on your own. It's MUCH faster and more reliable.

extremely tedious ones that are way beyond your simple mind's comprehension.
....
not much really. You upload your info to the server, much like uploading photos and it rocks and rolls on it's own. The interfaces are much more user friendly than they used to be back in the olden times of the intranet.

I completely love blogspot.com; easiest thing in the world to use. (it may be the same sight as blogger.com)
either way, it allows you to customize your blog in many many different ways (not just how it looks, but who can read it, etc. etc. )

So I use myspace, facebook, and blogger. (the first two are really only to keep in touch with people on their) But I'm looking for something new... I think I will definitely look into the getjealous and travelpod sights before I leave for Europe.
