Ok Kids,
Let's hear those cure-all ideas for getting better on the road or at home! I am a big fan of stumbling into the local farmacia and attempting to describe my symptoms through the time-honed art of charades.
I bring this up cause right now i am at home battling the start of a flu. Fun times. Currently I am popping cold-eeze and praying it goes away before work tomorrow.
So post your remedies for what ails ya!

Jake all you gotta do is chug a bit of NyQuil, then follow that right up with an extra strength neo citron, sleep for a few (more like 10) and you'll be all better.

Often I would eat yoghurt with all that good bacteria that it has. Although, there was one time in Morocco I used the charade tactic to demonstrate an upset stomach and vomitting (it was quite an amusing attempt).

For the last year I discovered the greatest pills in the world. COLD-FX! You take them right when you start feeling blah. (although probably to late for you jake) Nine pills the first day, six the second, and three the third. Seriously in one year I haven't been majorly sick. And hey if Don Cherry endorces it , then it must be good right! www.cold-fx.com

My mom swears by the homeopathic "Dolicoccil" for colds and flu - you start taking them right when you feel the very first symptoms and it never develops into a full up case. They don't work for me, though - don't know if I wait too long or am just too stubborn.
In Lithuania we used to drink an infusion of dried linden (lime - not the citrus kind) blossoms with honey and hot water - seemed to work, now that our source of linden trees has disappeared, we revert back to hot water (or tea) with honey and lemon juice. Also, hot milk with honey, though that's not so good if you have a stuffy nose. And of course, hot chicken broth.
Just in case you think I'm a total flower child, there's a big bottle of Motrin in every room in the house...and in the car! But when you're pregnant or nursing you have to come up with all sorts of non-medicated ways of dealing with illness, so I've had several years without Neo-Citron, which used to be my flu/cold treatment of choice.
Yogurt for ailing tummies, and a spoonful of local honey daily is supposed to counter pollen type allergies.
