SO my girlfriend pulled an amazing job in Germany this summer with Berlin Tours. I wish I was doing it or at least move with her. Her dilemna right now is getting a work visa. I guess Germany just passed some strict laws about foregners working and have increased the fines if you are caught doing so.

Berlin tours told her that the easiest way would be to become a student, enroll in some BS class and then she is allowed to work. (one and only way around the system I guess)

My question:
Anyone gotten a work visa in germany?
How long is the process and how hard is it to get?
Anyone worked for that company?

Thanks

cya...lilchappy

PS: My GF is always on the site but never signs up and posts!!!! RESPOND ANGELA!!!!

No althought I would have loved it, I have not, BUT from what I have read, wether you try to get a work visa or a student visa a residence permit is required. So I don't think one or the other will matter, you will need to go through the process.

How long is the process and how hard is it to get?

Again, I don't know, but the sooner you start the better, no matter what goverment we need to deal with, one thing is the same for all...they don't rush

Anyone worked for that company?

Na

I am sure you have seen this link, but here it is anyway...

i can now say that visas can be expensive.
im here in the uk on a spouse visa, and in order to extend it so i can stay for 2 years is all up costing me £1000, which is an awful lot of money

but its worth the experience.

i assume you have loooked into the whole ancenstry thing and also getting a sponsor??

have u tried to get in touch with your local german embassy and see what they suggest?
