Hi, I am a design student in Colorado researching Portable Coffee Makers(all types). I have lots of info on current options and models; but I need your help to learn what you would most like to see in a backpacking-friendly coffee maker.

What are the most important aspects to you as a backpacker with regards to coffee?

What would the ultimate coffee maker be?

Thank you for your input!

Well if you want something that is backpacker friendy is is going to need to be small light and easy to clean also it needs to bu very durable so you can just throw it in your back pack. and It need to be low cost. I know this is just a project but If you really want my opinion I'll just go to a cafe to get my coffee, most bakpackers want even carry around a portable hairdryer letalone a coffee maker. cool project though good luck and let us know how it goes.

Baomo - I've actually already got a French press that doubles as a mug.. Got it from Starbucks, of all places. And it's actually quite sturdy!

The ultimate coffeemaker that I've used recently is the Nespresso capsule espresso system. If this could be put into a portable form factor, I'd probably pay top dollar (or rather, charge up my credit card).

nice i'll have to check them out. the last time i was in the market for a press i could only find glass.

the reason i don't drink much coffee is because i'm rather good at breaking them. while my tea kettle is quite sturdy.
