Thumbs up

hellllllooooo travel punkers.... this is my first time on here and i think that it is an amazing website and so very helpful. i am a young (18) female who is looking to travel through london and surrounding area this coming fall (september-ish as i heard there are less tourists). i am just very very nervous to actually book the flight because i am worried that somethign will happen while i am away from home (canada). i was wondering if anyone else was going to be in the london are during september of this year, and also if anyone has been in london for about a month of sight seeing and doing the backacking deal, how much it cost. since i am not capable of geting a travel visa or anythign like that im working my buns off to try and have enough cash to have a good time there. another q of mine is what the "legal age" is in the UK. in canada it's 19, but i have searched through the website and i cannot find anywhere that states the leagalities. since this is my first trip alone (backpacking.. ive been to mexico for 3 weeks but it was all hotels and fine foods) if anyone can offer some much needed advice for this backpacking newcomer it would be greatly appreciated.. or if you are going to be in the london area hit me up with an email : forn_@hotmail.com thanks again for putting together such an awesome website!

Have ya traveled any yet? London was my first city and I was soon hooked. You will find that London is very easy to get around and commuting to surrounding areas is quite easy. Dont worry about anything at home, when you travel you are creating a time away from reality as you know it. Your only 19 so nothing too bad can happen while your away. Just have a good time and take full advantage of every minute... YO' TRAVELIN NOW BABY

Drinking age is 18 but I never saw anyone carded in UK, in fact I was served beer in pubs by peeps who couldnt be a day older than 16

Have you booked any hostels in London yet? I've stayed at a couple. My suggestion for someone your age would be to stay at The Generator. As long as you don't wilt in a corner you are bound to meet someone interesting to go sightseeing with. And there is a decent bar in the hostel as well.

People have mixed feelings about the Generator but I still dig it.
