I am wondering if most net cafe computers in Europe allow you access to USB drives. I have a digital camera and am going to want to transfer pics from it to my mp3 player, which I can do without needing access to the hard drive. Do the net cafes of Europe have USB drives and are most of the computers running Windows XP?

I went to internet cafés a lot, and usually guys from the place play games on them, and the PCs are very performant, so I guess they would have a USB slot...Actually, my sister is in Africa right now on a picture safari, and she sent us pics via email, so I guess she was able to transfer them to the PC there.

Cool, sounds like I won't have a problem then. I just need to get an mp3 player now with enough space to hold my digital files and music.

In most cases, larger cities and more updated cafes you won't have a problem, now there may be an exception when you are in smaller cities and mom/pap netcafes...

I believe all/most computers in Europe are equipped with USB drives.
Do most of the computers have Windows XP? I have seen them at the newer cafes, but many ho-dunk little net shops had older versions of Windows.

I don't think that you'll have any problems trying to accomplish what you want to do, but bring a copy of the software program for your camera and/or mp3 player just in case.

Here'e a list of internet cafe's around the world, just in case (it can be found on the Tpunk main page). I don't know if it's current, but it does have links to homepages of a lot of these cafes, should you feel like emailing them any of your concerns.

Good luck!
