What's the best time to be at the running of the bulls festival?? the start, the end, or the middle? Or is the whole thing awsome and it doesn't matter. I ask because i think i'm gonna miss the first few days of the event and i don't want to miss the peak of the festivities. I was thinking that maybe the first day would be crazy good because everyone would be so excited and all, and i might just be turning up for the tail end of the whole thing. Dunno if that makes sense....so tired

I would say the first day... But then again, this is all i know. I remember when i was looking at the program that there was major events all day every day, including fireworks.

But i think that the first it goes pretty crazy from about midday, drinking all night and then once daylight appears the anticipation of that first run is intense. Something ill never forget, and i didnt even run...

But, even so, if its not the first day, the last day or the middle day, just go. Trust me, its something you'll be glad you did.

Good luck
Oz.

You'll find at anytime that there is heaps of people around and it's a 24/7 party. I didn't make it to the opening ceremony (party) but apparently it's really wicked. I think u2fan did so maybe send her a PM to find our more.

Yeah, I was there for the first 2 days. I would say no matter what don't plan on spending more than 2 days there total, MAYBE unless you have a place to stay....believe me after 2 days of no sleep, tons of drunk people, trash, etc. I was more than ready to leave.

I agree with what Leeroy and Ev said; the beginning is the best time to go. For one thing there is less trash and shit everywhere. For another, I think everyone is probably more excited b/c the whole thing is kicking off.

If you go to the opening, do NOT wear anything you care about. I was there for a bit and within 15 minutes had silly string all over me, whipped cream, champagne, and vegetable soup (THAT I was pissed about). Actually in general, don't wear anything you care about while in Pamplona

and DO NOT pass out drunk unless you want to get stuff stolen. Believe me, people had their wallets cut out of their pants while they were sleeping :greenguy:

Yeah I was probably the only one in all of Pamplona who was never drunk while I was there. So I didn't get anything stolen but maybe that was why I was ready to get the hell out of there

cool, thanks guys I may have to see if i can get there on the 6th, it'll be tight though. Hey, what the hell do you do with your pack for the whole thing if you are just sleeping on the streets?? Is there some sort of bag storage or something because i don't really go much on the idea of dragging my pack around with me to all the parties.

The town hall provided storage. Be prepared to wait a very very long time to get access to your stuff.

Yes, very long time = AT LEAST an hour and a half, sometimes 2. It was freaking ridiculous......try and keep EVERYTHING you think you might possible need.
