Happy New Year All

I am going on a backpacking trip to Europe in a couple weeks and need to find a good travel towel. I had a "quick dry" towel last year, but the towel smells pretty bad after a couple of days compared to a normal towel. Does anyone have a name of a good travel towel and links to a site that sells it. Thanks.

here's a great one - i used it while in germany, though not often. but it's soft and dries quickly. the link i included is for the size towel i used, it could have been bigger, but it did the job and used very little space.

cool travel towel $20

I bought just a viscose camp towel at walmart for like 2.50 i think and it worked pretty welldried easily i didnt think it smelled and absorbed water pretty well

are these the towls you use for showering and everything too? they look like face cloths! how big are they?

they aren't big at all... and that's the point!!

of course, i think anybody would prefer to have a nice fluffy towel (a la ritz carlton), but they work fine - just dry yourself as fast as you can, haha.
and fyi - the pack towel that i suggested from rei comes in a larger size too.

When I did my europe trip I had one of those quick drying towels. Worked good. But I had a problem when I went to Costa rica. I wanted to lounge on the beach. So I ended up bringing an old beach towel. It took up waaaaay more room, but at least i had something to lay on.

What does everyone else do when they head to the beach? (during their travels)

hey Dio I think that's when a 'sarong' comes in handy. You know those things that girls wear over their bathers to form a skirt. Pretty versatile - You can use it to lie on at the beach, as a towel or a sheet etc.
