Default Where do you want to be right now?

I can't remember if we've had a thread like this before.
I know we're all travellers and we all get yearnings to be somewhere else, but do you ever get those really specific travel 'cravings' all of a sudden?
Like I was just looking at some street style photos and saw a girl in berlin, with graffiti all over the walls and plants growing from all the cracks in the pavement. Suddenly all I wanted was to be sitting on a step on Kastanienallee in Berlin, eating currywurst from a street vendor. with one of those little wooden forks. I want to feel that beautiful european warm weather, where it's really hot but you're shaded by a big tree and there's a bit of a breeze blowing so it doesn't matter. there's a constant stream of cool people on old bikes riding past in the cycle lane, and music coming from some little outdoor bar.

where do you want to be right at this moment?

I'm with you Ali-Berlin sitting at a street cafe sipping apfelschoral or by the river Spree. Maybe even this time of year at the Georgenhaus bier garten by the spree eating a bratwurst...*sigh*

Mine changes every night, when i'm in bed I always have somewhere I really want to go back to!

Quiet commonly just wandering around the streets & lanes in melbourne, or the markets.

Otherwise its quiet often Puerto Igauzu in Argentina, in the middle of the day when the shops are closed and everyone else is at the falls. So peaceful & rustic!

Right now, being that I am english and family/friends deprived, I just want to be sitting around good friends speaking english...and on Monday, that's gonna happen when I land in Copenhagen where I'm staying with a couple of good friends and their babies. They visited us in January, but only for a couple of days. Not long enough. So, it's my turn to see them!

It's been almost a year and a half since I moved to Madrid, where the dream of creating a happy family life took an unexpected nosedive. So, a change of scenery is sorely needed.

I love Madrid, but... I think I'm ready to submerse myself into the land of tall blonde english speaking supermodels.

Dude, you have no idea. I spent the afternoon somewhere in downtown Copenhagen and this place is crawling with hot chicks left and right. And these chicks are tall. It's like walking through a forrest of babes.

umm... well there's always plenty to do but I would say about... a bit over a week. like if you got here at the beginning of the weekend, and left at the end of the following weekend. Sydney's at it's best on the weekends with lots of markets and stuff to do, so it would be good to be there for two weekends. then during the week you could check out the tourist stuff that's open every day and maybe do a trip to the blue mountains (although I love the blue mountains so I can never understand how people can just do a day trip to there... I'd recommend at least staying overnight!). other must-dos would be a trip to manly on the ferry, I can highly recommend the zoo (come with me and it's free!) and there's heaps of good walks around the harbour that give you the totally surreal feeling of being in the bush and looking across at the city!

I think for me, I would want to spent Sept-Dec in Ontario, Jan-May in Berlin June-Aug either in Australia or New Zealand weather wise that would suit me just fine.

Right now I want to be anywhere on the coast of British Columbia. I love the summer in my province. So many endless oportunities to hike, kayak, explore...The smell of the sea air and the beautiful sunsets. ahhhh bliss.

I realise this will sound silly after all my complaining about winter, but hey I started this thread specifically because I change my mind about where I want to go every day. multiple times a day, even.
so I was just looking at the webcams for the ski resort near my parent's house, and it's looking all snowy and wintery and lovely! so I want to be THERE. and guess what? I will be by tomorrow night. yay!

so I guess my winter complaints are more directed towards sydney's pathetic rainy winter. if there's snow and mum-cooked meals, I'm happy.

Actually, right now I want to be in New Zealand. I've been thinking about moving there for a while now. It seems to offer quite a lot - particularly in the realm of mountain activities - and it's all packaged into a pleasant bite sized chunk of land. Yes, I think New Zealand could be for me.

^ yes do that! And since were quiet small it doesn't take that long to get anywhere so you could base yourself in a biggish city and be at the mountain within a few hours!

At the moment I really want to go to France, it was what started my travel obsession and i've never even been there!
