So I had my first driving test at 8.30am on saturday morning.
Only I didn't. I didn't get as far as putting the key in the ignition. Why? Because I'm a Stupid Bastard, but i'm getting a head of myself there.
When you go for your test you have to provide the appropriate paper work, which includes a provisional license, which concists of two parts, the card which most people (including myself) us as ID, and the paper document. Now i'm not the most organised of people in the world, so of course I didn't check my paperwork, or even look for it before my test, Hell i didn't even look for anything the night before my test. On the morning of my test I find everything, no worries eh?
Turns out I had my latest Card, But a very old and very out of date paper part of my license . So, I search High and low can only find those two bits, turns out that i may have been organised to through out my old card and new document, but not organised enough to check the date on each.
So me and my driving instructor decide to try and wing it and hope that we don't land with the head examiner. Well, We landed with the head examiner, which kinda sucks, sucks so much that I don't even do the test! Rules are rules eh? Despite the fact that i have a well indate card which suggest that i must of had a valid license....
But if i can get a license sorted on Monday (tomorow) I might be get a test during the week (hopefully before friday -since I move to uni on that day ) But still....
I blame the parents for raising a
Stupid Bastard.

Aww, poor you Roz!!!
I failed my driving test twice, I almost hit another car on one of them, so I'd say I'm also a bit of a stupid bastard!
Fingers crossed you get to take your test soon!

Those driving testers can be assholes. At least you didnt give him the chance to screw you over on the test itself.

Ahh, Rory, its all good.
When I was exactly 15 and 9 months to the day I got my Learner's Permit. this entitled me to drive with a licensed adult over 21. Simple written test and I was good to go.
When I turned 16, I had my car bought, and ready to go. Piece of shit Oldsmobile I bought from my grandfather since Pop couldn't drive anymore.
Dad took me to the MVA to get my license in his car. I sat in line, and failed the parallel parking test. No bueno. I had to wait about 3 weeks now to go back when Dad could get off work and take me. I did nail it the second time. But I had to see MY car in the driveway every day and it sucked!!!
All said and done, I've had my license over 10 years now. And even though there were setbacks it all eventually came through. All in good time, bro. All in good time.

I was one of the lucky ones, I guess... nailed my test right outta the chute (even passed the parallel parking test in a super cab - long bed pickup (They had to move the parking cones further apart because the truck was longer than the parking space)...

When I finished my driving test, the trooper (state troopers did driving exams in MA in the old days) said I past. My father, who was sitting in the back seat said, "What? You got to be kidding me." It was hard learning how to drive with a dad who also happened to be a former Navy pilot.

To carry on the tales of being a stupid bastard, I've just been skinny dipping in the sea and naked rock climbing on Ramsey Pier - one of many occasions, apart from this time the tide came up and drowned my clothes, along with my mobile
