your canadian joan?? What are you doing in San Diego if not school?
<------iz not Canadian
I have however, and I thank you all for this, gained a new respect for Canada on this website. I always wanted to go to Canada but it was always as an afterthought, not really important. But this website...especially those pictures that were posted....sorry, I don't remeber who posted them, of Nova Scotia and stuff like that make me want to go more. On my trip to Europe, I have a 4 hour layover in Calgary in the way there and a 3 hour on the way back in Vancouver......Should I even bother to venture outside the airport? Is it worth it? anything close enough to see? I'd love to have a beed in Canada....I really like Labatt

I grew up in Calgary - unfortunately, the airport is a little far away from anything, so I don't think there's much you can do in 3 hours. The biggest appeal for Calgary (tourism wise at least) is the proximity to the rockies and skiing (specifically the Banff area). Calgary is a very nice city though, and if you ever get more time and the opportunity you should check it out
I'm not exactly sure where the Vancouver airport is, but I know that it's an awesome (and crowded) city! You'd have to check out what the surrounding area is, but if you can get out for even an hour it would be worth it. Especially if you can get out to the beaches (but there's way more to do than that).

100% canadian. count moi!
jw1313-The airport in vancouver is about a 20-25 min taxi ride from downtown. It will cost about $20, or you can take a airport bus for $12. Public transit would take too long. It certainly is feasible to do. I'd mabye head up the harbour centre tower which offers great views of downtown and the beautiful mountains and then go to robson street for a great meal. Robson street is THE street to be on in vancouver. have fun and say hi to my city for me.

why would we need to type "y" when it's EH not AYE... get it right, and don't tell canadians how to say their signature phrase.
