Default Need an interesting comparison: Historical events or people - Help!

I'm sitting here in a class right now, I have about 45 mins to come up with some amazing topic to write a paper on. I need to compare and contrast two events or people. For example, Jesus & Hitler, Eleanor Roosevelt & Harriet Tubman, The Civil Rights Movement & the Irish Potato Famine, the advent of Rock & Roll & the rise to power of the Religous Right

I was thinking of maybe a comparison of backpacking travel and . . . . ? Or Joseph Cony (Ugandan LRA leader) and . . . . ? Or any cool ideas? I was full of em yesterday, but an almost all-nighter in the books and my brain's fried.

How about comparing Mohammad Khatami with Mahmoud Amadinejad? Khatami was a moderate who made many western style reforms as President of Iran, Amadinejad as we all know is a touch more hard line

ahhhh man, good idea. But I ran outta time and ended up choosing Adi Amin (horrible dictator, ex-prez of Uganda) and George Bush.

Quote:
Idi Amin Dada Oumee (c.1925[1] – 16 August 2003), commonly known as Idi Amin, was a Ugandan military dictator and the president of Uganda from 1971 to 1979. Amin joined the British colonial regiment, the King's African Rifles, in 1946, and advanced to the rank of Major General and Commander of the Ugandan Army. He took power in a military coup in January 1971, deposing Milton Obote. His rule was characterized by human rights abuses, political repression, ethnic persecution, extrajudicial killings and the expulsion of Asians from Uganda. The number of people killed as a result of his regime is unknown; estimates from international observers and human rights groups range from 100,000[2] to 500,000.
I should be able to do something interesting with that.

^^ Thats great!! I was gonna say something about Nelson Mandela, but oh well. Haha.

The movie Last King of Scotland was amazing!! Im not sure how accurate the movie is though about Idi Amins life.

allllright . . . . just finished my paper. Horrible, yuck, why'd I choose that topic?

From everything I read, it sounds like the movie is pretty accurate, including the cannibalism part, although critics say that play that up a little too much. I haven't see it though, that's definitely gonna be on my pre-Uganda movie requirement. That and Blood Diamonds.
