So, I've just come back from the pub with my friends, and we were having one of our usual intellectually driven conversations... this time about wake-up tunes.

Your wake up tune is the music that should (but inevitably doesn't) play in the morning, as you're getting ready etc...

We decided that one of my mates was "Sexy Boy" by Air (had visions of him walking in slow motion down the middle of a bus, high-fiveing everyone as he went!!!)

... another was "Staying Alive" by The Beegees (this time the vision was along the lines of that particular friend combing his hair in the mirror etc!)

Myself... I think it would have to be "Baby Love" by The Supremes, with my guy mates popping up behind me to do the backing vocals... Hahaha!

So what would yours be?!... I know I've gone on, but I've had a few...

xx

My morning wake-up music is always Bob Marley...even if its not in my CD player... its playing in my head. Totally relaxing....

Now for night time... right now... my get ready to go out music is britney's "outragous"... oh baby Or.. maybe black eye peas... "hey mama"

aaah yes gotta agree with bob marley. I feel like i'm waking up on a caribbean island instead of facing a day of dreaded work!!

Though most days my alarm is just set for the dreaded BEEP BEEP BEEP ...*cringe*

If I were to have a wake up song:

Bad Religion - Inner Logic

automatons with business suits clinging black boxes,
sequestering the blueprints of daily life
contented, free of care, they rejoice in morning ritual
as they file like drone ant colonies to their office in the sky

I don't ask questions, don't promote demonstrations,
don't look for new consensus, don't stray from constitution
if I pierce the complexity I won't find salvation
just the bald and over truth
of the evil and deception

there is an inner logic,
and we're taught to stay far from it
it is simple and elegant,
but it's cruel and antithetic
and there's no effort to reveal it

graduated mentors stroll in marbled brick porticos
in sagacious dialog they despise their average ways
displaying pomp and discipline, they mold their institution
where they practice exclusion on the masses every day

decorated warriors drill harmless kids on pavement
simulating tyranny under red alert
protecting the opulent and staging moral standard
they expect redemption of character and self-growth

Good call on Walk of Life by Dire Straights, good tune...depends on the morning for me. If it's dark and dreary I'd go with "mother" by Danzig because man, that tune just rocks...If it's a nice day where i kinda' want to be eased into it? Off the top of my head i'd go with "every body wants to rule the world" by Tears for Fears.

Geez... im very unexciting then... Im just happy to wake up to the radio. Those JJJ boys are very funny in the morning, and its handy to know what events have happened in the world before i feel the need to get up.

shit, I'm always in such a big hurry to get out of the house and into the office on time that I don't even think about music in the morning. boring, I know. But one memorable , heinously early morning I opened my iTunes program (I have an imac here at home) and the first song that popped out at me, full-blast, was Wu-Tang...

"wu-tang clan ain't nut'in to fuck with"
"wu-tang clan ain't nut'in to fuck with"

and so on and so forth. I don't know if that would be my everyday choice though.

Yeah, Wu Tang is a good choice!!!

I don't really have a favorite song, it depends on how I feel, but it's usually agressive music, to help me wake up and get the motivation I need to go through the day... B)
