i'm thinking of compling a travel book. with general info mixed with alot of stories and personal input from some writers. travelpunk has some of the most seasoned travelers around so who would be interested in contributing? I'm thinking of starting with Western Europe. I have plenty of travel experience there and anyone who has spent anytime in europe has plenty of stories! but i dont want this to be a travelbook/biography of me. i want it to be something that would be useful to other people and has a bit of flavor from different travelers. so if anyone is interested let me know, and we can start crackin on this.

Nice work dude

I'll help where i can, but with a full time job and uni i don't really have much spare time.

I think i remember someone else saying they were going to do a similar thing, but i never heard anything more about it.

Actually, I've been working on a travel book of my own in my spare time, since the so-called "Backpackers Bible" and other crap like that out there are, well, crap.

Of course, I'm gonna give TPunk first option for publishing rights if it's ever finished.

I think its a marvellous idea and i for one would be very happy to contribute. What sort of structure did you have in mind? Lots of useful information and tips coupled with some travel stories>? A bit of narrative tied in with useful info? Would you focus on places, practicalities, or funny stories? You need to think carefully about the style i think as well, since sometimes just the tone of a guidebook is enough to ensure its left on the shelves unsold (too functional, too patronising to the well travelled, or just too plain boring). Good luck to you though rootbrewski, i reckon you're onto a winner, because so much travel literature out there is almost useless, and always right when you need some help.

i guess thats why this place is so popular
