Apparently there are still a lot of pirates about, esp. around Indonesia. How much fun would that be (in theory, not practice i guess!)
Yeah they are definantly around except now they carry machines guns. Still a "take no prisoners" way of working as well.

Looks like you got flickr working fine. Some cool shots on the page.

Sweet photos!

Crap, it's been ages since I've taken decent concert pix. I need to fix my old small-enough-to-hide-in-my-undies camera and put it back into action.

Are they pretty strict with taking cameras etc into gigs where you are?

Depends on the venue. A lot of real small bars and clubs in my area don't care because they are smaller bands where they pretty much know everyone in the audience. Then you get to mid sized to large clubs that havea no cameras policy. After you go like to a stadium type show then there are no camera rules again.

Not sure while the mid to large clubs are against them though.

It's often the in the band/artist's rider to allow/disallow cameras as well.. For instance, I went to a tiny San Francisco venue that normally allows cameras to see the Foo Fighters, and some linebacker of a security guy practically tackled me when he saw my camera snapping away... "Sorry, band policy," he said. I've noticed the same thing at a number of medium-sized venues, as well. Some nights they allow cameras, others they don't.

I need a press pass...

I see what you mean. The gigs i've been too are usually fine about cameras, not matter what size the venue is. When I went to see A Perfect Circle, however, i think Maynard said there was to be strictly no cameras (he is soooooooo shy). I heard a rumour that he walked out of a gig once because people wouldn't stop taking pictures of him.

My sister is a photographer and gets press passes to all the cool gigs (Rammstein, Korn, Fear Factory etc etc) the lucky bee-atch

Is anyone on TravelPunks in a band?

I've never been in one but I have been a part of them. I have done stuff like setting up shows, helping set stages up and stuff, promo. It was fun actually and like once I started knowing people at radio stations and stuff from it i started getting lots of tickets and stuff thrown my way or on guest lists. I love the guest list.
