Has anyone been in Mexico during their Independence Day celebrations?

If so....where were you? Big city? Small town? Any suggestions?

I'm not sure how much of a help this will be but I was researching just flat out driving in Mexico and it was recommended to not drive on Sundays due to a surge of drunk drivers and not to drive at night because it's very dangerous and, the drunk driving thing. I guess it's slightly more common there. So, I'm sure ID would be a bad time to be driving around! Just a guess though.
