Me and Pope John Paul II
So, I thought I had lost this pic. I hadn't seen it in years. Anyway Rox just found it. I was 12 and in the Vatican City with my parents. We lucked into a private audience and all got to meet one on one with him. I'm not a Christian practioner, but it is the Pope and all. I just thought this was cool, and wanted to share.

dude don't you know by taking his picture you stole his soul, thereby making you the pope?
I'm pretty sure that's how it works anyway...

No, but I think we have to kiss your ring if we're in your presence.

Thats funny, in the pic, he was offering me his hand to kiss the ring.
Plus I should mention when I returned to my private catholic school, I had all the nuns telling me I had to become a priest

Ditto. I that must have been amazing!! He's a man I really admired and respected... he did a lot for the Church and when he passed away, for some reason it was a pretty big deal to me.
It's such a fantastic experience, and let me tell you: you met one of the men who I actually admire the most. That is just so cool to me!!
And even though he represents nothing to a lot of people, he still was a great human being.

Ya know, I left my TV on the entire time the light was on in his room in the Vatican City while he was dying. I witnessed the moment the light was turned off. I was touched. I may not be a practicing Christian, but I still have AMAZING respect for John Paul II

Photographic proof that, contrary to popular belief, the Pope does not wear a funny hat.
disclaimer: I'm just kidding, I know he has another hat. and it is quite funny. more funny weird than funny ha-ha
