oh my god, when i'm away from australia I miss everything... violet crumbles, chicos, minties, fantales, snakes, tim tams, wagon wheels, peppermint crisps... oh and after talking about this with another aussie in london, we realised that peppermint crisps kinda need explaining. english people get horrified because they think we're talking about a bag of peppermint flavoured potato chips. a peppermint crisp is a chocolate bar with this magical mysterious crispy peppermint stuff inside. soo good.

ohh but my altime favorite might have to be the deepfried Mars Bar. it sounds totally disgusting but is sooooo worth it.
treats i miss from OZ are Milo (why dont they sell it in the UK??) and cherry ripes. (Its a coconut and cherry mix coverend in dark chocolate.

Haha Jake now knows all about the Joys of Tim Hortons and their food. Especially the "everything" bagel, toasted with butter... mmmmmmmm

Aliz, we have wagon wheels here in Europe. Usually you can only buy them in packs of 16 though.

16? are they the mini ones? back in the old days when i was in primary school they were sold individually, and they were huuuuuuge. they havve gradually shrunk over the years. although, i had much smaller hands back then so i thought maybe they just seem smaller now, but my dad confirmed that they definitely have shrunk. still good though.

My favorite is not exactly a candy but a cookie. When I was a kid, my dad would get a box of Liebeplätzchen from a woman he knew when he was a kid living in Germany every year during Christmas. The cookies were almost live a gingerbread cookie that had a waffer on the top with a sugar glaze. They were very good. The woman has since died and I can't seem to find it. When I google "Liebeplätzchen" I end up with German porn.

:D My fave food in the UK has got to be rockies, those babies rock my world like you'll never know! And from home it has to be Tim Hortons, Tim hortons basicallly kept me alive when i was in school, nothing was more comforting after 30 hours of travel then when i finally got through security and smelled Tim Hortons Coffee for the first time in 3 months.

Old thread I know but I stumbled across it and thought I might add.
I met a guy in Berlin who bought a packet of Pim's from Belgium (also available in Spain) they were awesome! Chocolate covered things with some weird cross between biscuit and marshmallow inside. You can get them filled with flavours but the regular ones were awesome enough.

I had a caramel Rocky last night, it was yummy. But my friend and I were discussing how they used to be far bigger and chunkier, the chocolate used to be about half a centimetre thick, it was amazing.

Actually come to think of it they used to sell them here too. chocolate with little bit's of green crispy peppermint. The wrapper was like a almost plain paper wrapper.

there about 3 inches in diameter, there individually wrapped but in packs of 8 or 16, you never see them sold separately.
Rocky bars are class too, especially with a nice cup of tea.

You can still get a peppermint crisp type chocolate bar in the UK... just not called a peppermint crisp. Even Dairy Milk does a peppermint crisp variety.

You can still get peppermint crisps in Oz, they come in a green foil like wrapper.
