myspace is great for getting wider exposure if you're in a band.

I hate you all. Guess what I just did? I signed up for myspace. I think blogs and similar things are so stupid and juvenile, and yet, I set up an account. I didn't realize you could look up people from high school, but I found a bunch of people I knew, including a friend that's moved to Chicago. So, I figure people will be able to get ahold of me. Yes, I'm adding like all of you so I don't look totally lame. I mean, dude, I can't have NO friends on myspace - what will the other "myspacers" think of me??
edited to add: my user name is chicagoski

Tony, you should have used commas instead of periods. duh. get it right.
I have had travelpunk boards linked on my facebook since the day I set it up.

I have a myspace account... (and for Tony's sake, as with everything else I am remotely connected with, there is a travelpunk link, and a fullhousehobby link... I am a glutton for free exposure)... and I only signed up to keep in touch with people that I don't see very often and are never in one spot for too long as its easier then e-mailing someone in some ways. I have met some old classmates and a few business people, but nothing too exciting.
I will say that I am amazed as I was browsing people from my local area, around my age 20-30... and was amazed at how many profiles were really junior high and high school kids with adult ages... Seems like a preying ground for dirty internet people. Many of the young girls had some very 'naughty' pictures on their pages too... it just seemed kinda dirty as you are expecting a 26 year old and *BAM* its a 12 year old with pictures of making out with her girlfriend... WTF?
So now I just keep tabs on the people I know and don't look for new people anymore.

I dont have an account right now, but i do think its a pretty damn smart system. Also I heard through the grapevine that MySpace is now a record label, offering contracts to the higher rated bands featured on MySpace, now THAT is brilliant.

I think it's gone downhill ever since Rupert Murdoch bought it. It's gotten much slower...and he's really jacked up the content filter.
I cannot even post on any boards there anymore because I think I got banned for posting too much 9II conspiracy stuff. Other people have also recently gotten blocked from posting crap about news organizations (FAUX NEWS?), or unintentional slurs like "dyke" (which is also a last name). Anyways, the Orwellian thought-policing really hacked me off...so fook Myspace & Murdoch!
Yea, YOU bych! :greenguy:

Wow this is like deja vu! Back in the my highschool days I use to sit in class and have everyone chat about what happened on icq the night before. I never understood what they were talking about, since I was computerless I was the odd chica out. Now I'm sitting here in 2006 wondering what the fuck myspace is . I am seriously out of the cyber world loop. But I prefer it that way. Internet geeks scare me.

I like MySpace it's a great way to share pics and blogs with friends and family while traveling. It's also a great way to waste time when you're bored and saving money for that next trip. Check out some of my travel pics. www.myspace.com/ryanbac javascript :emoticon(' ')
