i think people in other (select) countries think we americans are idiots, or at least slutty. when i was 17 i was in paris and took a tour bus to versaille but ended up falling asleep and totally missed everyone actually going in. anyway, the nasty french bus driver came back there and offered me a smoke, asked me if i was married, then when straight for the gold..... anyway, he was speaking french and had no idea i was understanding him, because, obviously, americans don't care enough about anyone else's culture to actually learn the language (sometimes we do come off as this "ugly american" guys, or at least some of our counterparts do). i don't know, fools transend all nationalities, races, religions, etc.

I really enjoy all the brits Ive ever met my only complaint is when they come to our malls here in florida with the short shorts, fanny packs and socks and sandals. Otherwise they are great.

Dunno - i always have a soft spot for Brits in general, what with their pop culture, street fashion and their driving on the wrong side of the road...

I remember there was a good program by BBC & PBS called "An Ocean Apart" which tells the cultural differences between the two countries and how each's society developed over the years....

Too bad the footy pretty much slacks....

For those with an interest in the Brit vs. Yank topic, you should check out Brit Think vs. Ameri-Think, a pretty funny book about it all. It's not laugh out loud funny, but a good, easy read nonetheless.
