I'm a self-employed webmistress. I buy & sell domains, build websites, market them, pimp affiliate programs, that kind of thing.

As of right now, I got a new job in the Dept of Foreign Affairs doing work on Afghanistan - so I might be going back. Which is kind of unnerving, since things are heating to a boil over there.

giving this thread a bump cos I just got a job at the Express at Easton (which for those of you who have never been to Cbus, Easton is this huge & fabulous mall/extravagant place to eat & shop). The Express label HQ is here in Cbus too and the Express at Easton is the one that does the most biz in Ohio. Last "black Friday" (day after Thanksgiving where everyone shops), they did $140,000 in one day. Holy hell, son!
the interview was so fun! I got to throw together outfits for these random themes the hiring manager gave me. Totally my thing. And how bout the freaking discount?! HOLLER!
:D

I just got a job as a dealer manager for a poker tournament. I make sure they have stuff and put out fires basically. I forgot what being a manager was like and dealing with people whining.

office slave, ex-preskool teacher, future juggler! :)
This post is very, very old, but.. let's keep it alive! hehe bored at work, just scrolling through pages of various message boards - whoo!
i currently work for my father's law firm in muskegon, MI - it is absolutely terrible (although i really don't DO much of anything... and i don't worry about getting fired!), but i really don't like being part of the 'system' (judicial, that is) in any way, shape, or form... the courts waste SO MUCH PAPER, and i grieve for the trees; also cannot go barefoot and have to dress up for sitting in an office all day, looking outside and lusting over the sun. human beings are NOT meant to live this way!
i used to teach kids, preschoolers to be exact, and was doing that on and off for the past 5 years since i gradimitated with a (useless) degree in english lit. i was also a lifeguard and swimming instructor. then, i had a REALLY rough past year of it, and have managed to acquire 3 pot possession charges (was basically living on the streets in asheville, hanging out with the travelin/crusty kids, and we got popped a couple times by po-po wandering down on us out of the blue - once in the middle of a torrential downpour!). so, i lost my job teaching kids, which i LOVED - it is my opinion that what one does while not at work is their own damn business, as long as it doesn't affect their workplace performance - and i would never go to work high... so, anyways.
my future career plans include being a professional juggler (busker), fruit picker, and/or house cleaner-person. and a vagabond. a vagabond i shall be - i sometimes console myself with the fact that even though my 'criminal' record now prevents me from doing the only other thing i love besides travel (workin with the littles).. now i can just...TRAVEL! no excuses, and soon our ridiculous government will be so broke that they will HAVE to legalize herb - it's just a matter of time.
namaste, blessed b,

^^^^ Ya know, you could always teach anywhere in Central America.... May just be volunteer work, but a lot of times you can get free room and board....

oh, i know, for sure. there's just too many things to see/places i want to go, at least for the next couple years to bollocks it up and do volunteer work. haha - no, that came out totally wrong... but yah, i've totally thought about doing TESL and even something like volunteering at the quetzaltrekker skool... i just have deep forebodings about the state of oil accessibility - i really believe the end of 'easy' travel is among us in the next couple years. ANYWAYS.

I currently run a swimming pool for a school district just outside of Seattle. I hate it.

I am currently unemplyed - been since October (when I decided to return home)
I leave for England on Saturday and will be working as a live in care worker. I basically livei n elderly or disabled peoples home and do thigns they cant - and yes that does include toileting and bathing. It is as much fun as it sounds. Work 7 days a week, only 2 hours off a day, but the pay is fab so I can take loads of trips!!
