celebrity sightings
as some of you may remember, i am working the winter season up at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming. Jackson Hole is a pretty upscale place in general, and the mountain is second to none. So as you can imagine it attracts some celebrities lookin for the ultimate winter destination. i will now proceed to list the celebrities that have been sighted at JHMR and my interaction with them, if any. BTW, i work in the kids rental shop, so if they have kids ive probably seen them.
Gary Cole - he played boss Bill "mmm...yeah" Lumbergh in Office Space
Hilary Swank - million dollar baby is skiing!
Julianne Moore - even though shes like double my age i have a total crush on her, and shes been here for like the last week. and ive seen her and talked to her on several occasions as she gets her kids ready in the mornings and stuff. smiles and direct eye contact! from julianne moore! woooo!
Catherine Keener - the lady in 40-yearold virgin. awesome lady, i helped set her kid up on a snowboard and have had a couple pleasant conversations
Uma Thurman - i seriously watched Kill Bill last night and realized that she totally kicks ass. also catch her in The Producers as the swedish bombshell secretary
thats it so far, but ill keep you posted. its pretty cool seeing and talkin to celebrities and seeing how normal most of them are. and julianne moore! my heart is a'thumpin everytime i see her!

That is way cool.
I used to work as a prep-cook/baker in a restuarant and I saw Billy joel, Arnold Schwarzenager and his wife Maria Shriver, Christie Brinkley, Bob Goldthwait, and Jodie Foster. I never got to talk to any of them.
I really think Christie Brinkley is beautiful.

that is awesome - Julianne and Uma are both gorgeous.
I haven't really seen many celebs... Dakota Fanning was at the Celine show in Vegas in June (and I had better seats than her).
And then the best one... I dunno who here watches The Real World on MTV, but in college, Mike (The Miz, from Real World 10: Back to NY plus a bunch of challenges) came to my college as a campus event. Mike, for those who don't know, is originally from Cleveland. Well he is best friends with the boyfriend of one of my sorority sisters (they both we to hs with him), and so after the show or whatever, he came to a kegger we were having for his friend because it was his birthday (my soro sister's boyfriend's b-day). Anyway I def made out with him at one point in the evening. Nothing spectacular to happen to me because he is a man whore. He made out with my roommate too and we thought it was really funny. There was a pic of me and my roomster and him on his website for awhile. This was like 3 years ago so I doubt it is anymore.
So those are my celeb stories. Tune in in June after my Euro trip when I meet you know who (if you don't know who, see the pic in my sig... hehe)

As lame as it may be I've met many race car drivers over the years now. One of my best friends is probably the best Sprint Car driver of all time. This is where the likes of Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne, etc got their start.
So I've definitely met alot of them lol.

There's definitely something about Julianne Moore. Very Sexy. Must be the red hair or something.

The only famous person I've ever met was the first President Bush (who was not very friendly).
I'll offer that I did look at my high school on wikipedia the other day and discovered that a fellow student assassinated President Garfield. That's kind of cool. But I'm like 150 years older than he was so we never met :P

Hopefully we will see you on E! as the mystery girl who stole Celine's heart and broke up her marriage
You made out with the Mizz? That's hilarious - your legend is growing by the day.

HAHAHAHAH well you'll see me on YouTube starring as mystery girl before you see me on E! I can just see the reports now.....
"mystery girl takes Celine to keg party! shows Celine how to do a kegstand!" "Celine makes out with The Miz, then turns to mystery girl for some real lovin'!"
and then she writes a Grammy award winning song about all of it.

speaking of red heads, do you know what other red headed actess is hot? Gillian fucking Anderson. Yeah, she had some hair issues in the early 90s but she's def smokin', in my opinion. I'm about as straight as they come, but I would def get it with her and not even be ashamed to admit it! (and also you know who). Kate Walsh is hot too, I'm about to copy her hair.
anyhoo, Gillian Anderson. see pics below. HOT. there are better pictures out there I'm sure but I'm not going to look too hard so I don't look like a celebrity stalker even more than I already do LOL.
except in real life she's a blonde...
still hot.
and to redeem myself, I would cut off my own arm to have sex with Patrick Dempsey....

I've seen Chad Michael Murray twice. Not too surprising since I live in Wilmington, and they shoot One Tree Hill here. I saw him about 2 years ago in the Wilmington airport at baggage claim. He was with Sophia Bush (who he later married and divorced). A few weeks ago I saw him while I was working at Toys R Us. He was buying stuff to donate to Toys For Tots. One thing I can say about the guy is he's alot skinnier in real life than on TV.

Good lord, a thread with mentions of three of my favorite redheads- Julianne Moore, Angie Everhart, and Gillian Anderson. Helloooooooo nurse!
As for celebs...
When I worked in sales, I worked with or met the following:
Mike Wilbon (ESPN)
Roderick Paige (former sec of education)
Juan Dixon (NBA star)
Charles "Rock" Dutton (actor)
Tom Daschle (former senator and a really condescending prick)
As for other sightings, I cooked for:
Cal Ripken Jr.
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett (and her stepdad was my oven maintenance guy!)
Maury Povich
Weird Al Yankovic (!!!) -- and he's a vegetarian. I cooked him his birthday dinner last year.
Many, MANY cast members of The Wire
Anthony Williams (former mayor of DC)
Walter Cronkite
Steve Bischotti (owner of the Baltimore Ravens)
Art Modell (former owner of the Ravens)
and many, many others, but those are the ones that come to mind.
I am still friends with Duff Goldman, Ace of Cakes guy, and was on the show at one point (talking with him at a concert. fill footage)
I've met a fair share of other celebs, too.
Larry the cable guy (git er done!)
Shannon Sharpe, Ray Lewis, Randall Cunningham, Tony Siragusa, Matt Stover (all Baltimore Ravens)
Tons of Baltimore Orioles,
Johnny Unitas. He IS the man.
I work PT with Davey Thomas, pro paintball player.
There's a ton of local celebrities I've known over the years and cooked for, etc etc.

Did any of the celebs you cooked for ever send their meals back?? I know you're an excellent cook but aren't they notoriously picky??
When I lived in NY, I met a lot of celebs...they roam the streets freely, almost WILLING us crazy fans to come up and approach them!
Sarah Jessica Parker (who is soooo skinny in real life...her hands looked like skeletons)
Jason Biggs (who was cuter than he was in American Pie)
Jude Law (swoon I wanna be his nanny...haha)
Joey Fatone and Lance Bass from NSync
Joey McIntyre
Marlee Matlin (she is an actress who is deaf...she was super cool and nice)
Mario Cantone from Sex and the City
Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser...I saw him lots actually, he was always walking around)
and obviously Ricki Lake.

Bill Cosby (not that nice a guy, actually)
Lynn Swann (wide receiver for the Steelers a couple decades ago - lived practically next door to his father, actually got to go to his retirement party)
Pierce Brosnan (colossal prick)
Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff - General Richard Meyers (in Saudi Arabia)
Former Army Chief of Staff Eric Shinseki - (first asian-american 4-star general)
Reggie Jackson (well after he retired - in a gas station in Sacramento)

DUFF?!??!!? are you serious?! Ahhhh, I basically worship that guy. And Alton Brown. I even went to his website to see how much a cake would be for my 18th birthday, but I figured it would be too much for me to pay myself. Haha.

Brooke-
Nope. Most celebs were very low-key. Weird Al was really cool, though I was surprised he is a veg.
Will and Jada were awesome. He bought a house not far from where I grew up, and came into the restaurant with his whole entourage. True story- his people made the reservation, and told us that Will and Jada don't get the bill, bring it to them. So, they were at a table, and a few away were the bodyguards, etc. When they were done eating, all these customers and their kids came up to them asking for autographs. They signed each one and were very cordial.
Cal Ripken came into the place I worked after opening day last year at the Orioles. He was taking a train to NYC for a book signing after he threw out the first pitch, and was the same- low key and cordial.
Julia-
Yep, I know Duff. Met him through a Baltimore chef's association. A good friend of mine is also a guitarist in his band called ...So I Had To.
His cakes are really pricey, though. I got quoted $650 for my mom's birthday cake, a complete Scrabble board in 3D, and unfortunately couldn't swing it. I may know him, but couldn't get one for free! It was actually about $200 less than his usual price.
One time I was in a bar in Federal Hill in Baltimore when then-mayor now Governor Martin O'Malley was drinking. SOB walked right into me, didn't say excuse me or anything, and shot me a look as if I was in the wrong. He was too busy chasing early 20's tail, so i guess he could get away with it. What a douchebag.
I also met the DC sniper prior to his arrest, but thats a story best saved for another post.

I used to live in Manchester, NH - Adam Sandler's home town. One Saturday night (actually early Sunday morning)we were at this diner downtown that is a local institution where everyone goes after the bars close. Adam Sandler and a pal came walking in at about 2am. No one paid him any mind except for this one local yokel older lady who kept yelling over at him.."Hey Adam..I'm the Queen of the Queen City!" Manchester is known locally as the Queen City. Anyway, he ignored her and sat in a corner booth and didn't say a peep. For me it is always kind of surreal to see someone famous in real life.

oh I def forgot about my Toby Keith story, which really isn't much of a story. He came out here for a concert over the summer, I got to meet him, and he behaved like an all-around douche. no one will even listen to his music anymore that I work with. very disappointing. guys in my unit who were in Iraq said he was the same way then. nice to know he does these USO tours and sings songs like "American Soldier" just to boost his "patriotic", homegrown image.
what a fuck-face.
