Has anyone ever bought anything from an infomercial?

I have a friend who has a room full of stuff bought by "accident" when he came home from the bar drunk out of his mind.

I've been tempted! I ordered this book set that was free for a like 4 weeks if you returned it and I did - never even really opened the box.

My grandpa used to buy tons of stuff from infomercials, then never opened them.. So when I got my first apartment in college, I had tons of kitchen crap off the ol' tube.

I find that most of the stuff sold via infomercials is garbage. You can go and see the stuff for yourself at As Seen on TV stores at the mall, if you're morbidly curious.

I bought a bowflex several years ago. It is everything they say it is!
Furthermore I worked answering phones for infomercials for awhile. It was the worst job ever but some of the products are for real, like the little giant ladder. That thing is AMAZING.

Never bought anything, but my mate used to work as a telly-marketer and when he was drunk and an infomercial came on he would ring the number and talk to the operator just to try and brighten their day because he knew how crap the job was.

I could see myself succumbing in a moment of weakness to a Foreman Grill or some Tony Little exercise contraption, but only when drinking...

(ok, maybe not Tony Little, he irritates me)

Welcome back, Carmella - ltns

Thanks Monsignor! Good to be back. Had a rough spot there for a bit but seem to be getting back on track.

I admit I have the Foreman Grill but I didn't buy it from those shows. I love it and would highly recommend it.

Otherwise, I have been tempted a few times but leave the suckerness to my mom who owns so many of these things. I can go try them out at her house

My ex was a 'collector', and now I've got a really big (for me) house to myself, and an opportunity to refill it (she took everything when she moved except the garbage).

I have to resist the urge to start picking up more junk to fill the house with...

Though the Foreman grill has been a tempting one (Especially since I keep seeing them at the local Salvation Army store for $5)

We got an outdoor Forman, it cooks really well and evenly. I'd recommend it.
