What is the quickest/easiest way to get fired from an ESL language center in Asia?
My friend wants to know how to get booted from a 1 year standard contract.

Hah. Hope for dual citizenship, and sneak outta the country on your 2nd passport. It worked for my uncle in China.
Your mileage may vary.
Actually, it may be worthwhile to have a lawyer look over the contract to find a loophole. Otherwise it could open your friend up to potential breech of contract lawsuits, and possibly confiscation of their passport, etc.

If he has any female friends back home have them say their pregnant with his love child.
Usually contracts have loopholes though. Family emergencies, health related, etc. One of those shouldn't be too fake as long as it isn't over-the-top.

Well here is an idea...
When you join the Army that is a pretty air-tight contract.
I do know that in Basic, if you REALLY want to get out, you just tell one of your sgt. that you cant take it anymore and that you'll kill yourself if they make you stay or somethin like that.
Very grim sorta..but it works to get outta the army! Should work for this contract too??

Boinking an underage student will work, but I'm sure that'll do more than just void the contract.

You do not want an OTH or Mental Health discharge. That will haunt you for the rest of your life.

^^ I don't think it'll be quite as severe as it would be from the army.
Anyhow, tell him to look for anything they may have done illegally - is he working in a country where foreigners must have a four year degree and he does not? Does he have to renew his visa? Tell him not to if he does and get kicked out that way.
Why can't he just walk? Is it because of the plane ticket issue? A lot of people who go to work over sees to teach English don't fulfill their entire contract. I don't really think there's any legal ramifications.

Why can't he just be honest and tell them he's leaving because of whatever is not working out? What are they going to do to him - dock his future paychecks? And as long as he doesn't use them as a reference for future employment, what does it matter if he breaks the contract? Is there some financial penalty stipulated in it?

The army contract isn't the same as a civilian employment contract... The army kicks people like that out for unsuitability, instability, etc... If they figure out that it's simply to breach the contract, the army usually adds confinement and forfeiture of pay to the pile.... (and a bad conduct discharge, or a bad character of 'chapter' - a type of discharge)
For a civilian, in most contracts like his, there are usually clearly spelled out penalties for non-performance, for whatever reason... usually to include the actual damages (cost of recruiting another person, airfare, program penalties, etc) Whether or not they choose to pursue it is a different story...
The passport being confiscated would still be illegal, since the passport belongs to the State Department, technically, and even governments aren't supposed to confiscate it.... (though the State Department could revoke it, I guess, but that would be for something serious - or criminal)

could he not just tell his boss to "go f*** themselfs?" or something to that effect.
Or just be really rude and obnoxious all the time. Or just be a really crappy teacher. Failing that they could turn up to work drunk. Any combination of the above would work. It couldnt be that hard to get fired and possibly alot of fun just along he doesnt do anything illegal.

instead of teaching them to say hello, teach them fuck you.
instead of where is the bathroom, can we fuck now?
i think that will do the trick ...haha
