I got the inspiration for this thread from the "You know you're a traveller when» topic, added to the fact that I'm at this very moment studying world geography for an exam (and need a break!).
Am I the only Tpunk who gets all excited to see a sea ? You look at the other side, thinking of what country is there, and you feel at the other end of the world. I personally hope to see more and more of them. So far : -Atlantic and Pacific Oceans (from both western and eastern shores) -North Sea -Black Sea -South China Sea -Tasman Sea And there are too many rivers to list, but here the two who got my travel vibes going : -the Mekong (doing my laundry in it was one of the best "backpacker experience" ever, seemed like being in a dream, or in the ''idea" of travelling) -the Danube -the Seine And one day, the Amazone, the Amour, the Nile... *dreaming* :crybaby: To see the Himalayas was a good one too ! |

I am obsessed with the ocean/seas. I always have been. I just get this feeling of peace. I bought the book "Chicken Soup for the Ocean Lovers Soul." :) My list is pretty pathetic as well.

OCEANS: - Atlantic (South and North, but only from the American Continet: from Argentina and the US) - Pacific (same as before, from Chile and the US) SEAS: - Argentine Sea - Red Sea (gulf of Aqaba and of Suez) - Gulf of Mexico - Dead Sea - Mediterranean Sea - Aegean Sea - Marmara Sea - Black Sea - Adriatic Sea (from the Gulf of Venice) - North Sea (The English Channel really) MAJOR RIVERS: - River Plate (Río de la Plata: widest in the worls and it's were I live :) ) - Thames - Seine - Tiber - Arno - Po - Nile - Jordan - Colorado - Mississippi - Hudson ....I give up, rivers are hard to remember, I actually had to look some of them up. |

So far only the three main ones everyone here has seen:
Pacific Ocean Atlantic Ocean Mediterranean Sea but...within the next couple months I'll be visiting the Dead Sea, Red Sea and Kinneret (Sea of Galilee)...I just haven't had the time to drive to them :tumbleweed: |
Well this is just out of control are we doing any body of water or "seas” cause I went to turkey run state park over the summer...

In order of appearance:
Gulf of Mexico, Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean, Beaufort Sea, Mediterranean Sea (Ligurian Sea, Tyrrhenian Sea, Adriatic Sea, Ionian Sea, Alboran Sea - yes, all but the Aegean damn it!), North Sea (& British Channel) Rivers and lakes, WAY to many to name - most of the major ones in the US and many in Europe (when I went on a 6 weeks kayak around Europe). |

-Pacific Ocean -Mediterranean -Sea of Cortez -River Sienne -River Thames Also, Tarifa, Spain is on the southern tip of Spain (across from Morocco, Africa). That is the meeting point between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. So, I guess... add the Atlantic Ocean to my list too! (bunch of other rivers and lakes, but the above were cool) |

I was a part of a study abroad group, and we were on a six day tour through the country- touring with your professor is like being in class round the clock. He even lectured in the bus. And the train. So we arrived battle weary at the Hotel Dawlish in Tangiers. I will say this for UTexas, they really take care of their students abroad. I went down in the free hour before dinner and bought some smokes and a bottle of famed moroccan "Grey Wine" and took them back up to the privacy of my balcony. The air was still and warm, I could see the whitewashed walls of the old city at my feet to the left, pleasure boats to the right, and the silvery mediterranean right in front of me. Spain hovered there just on the horizon. The sun was setting, casting deep reddish light on the medina below me. Everything was kind of quiet, and I could hear strains of a trumpet coming from what we later found out was a jazz festival somewhere below. The trumpet player quit just as the mosques called the faithful to prayer and spain disappeared; it was just a few lights way off at the edge of the world. |
