Amen to that one. Someone I knew referred to spain in the summer time as an amusement park for bratty americans... I kind of feel sorry for the locals, you know? I would hate it if a bunch of jerky kids infiltrated my country for three months every year.

i miss not hearing english as the spoken norm, getting lost all over a city whether it be by train, subway, bus, or foot. i miss trying new foods...that inevitably give me the runs, meeting new packers from all around the world, being introduced to new situations weekly, daily, hourly, watching busy people in every city...doing what they always do, trying new beers, non-stop laughs.......
yes, let's all cry together now....

I miss not being in this country.

Lol, werd - you forget how much you miss it until you go out again. My short jaunt to Costa Rica was a nice reminder. Listening to howling monkeys, drenched in tropical sweat doing yoga by the beach, surfing perfect temperate 4' waves all the way into shore and feasting on gallo pinto...ahh, la pura vida. B)

Amen to that. And knowing I have places to stay all over.

I tend to miss meeting new people the most. Though I enjoying getting to know people, which takes time, so I like spending time in one place...and for the last several years I haven't stayed in one place too long, so its all good.
