IMO=in my opinion
I have some scars too, one on my eyebrow, one on my chin, one on my forehead...all of them are pretty small but they are there. And also one on my back courtesy of a little glass table incident when I was four...falling through the damn thing I mean. 72 stiches. Now it isn't that big because I have grown and the scar stayed the same size. And all my scars do tell a story.

Owch! Well, hope you heal soon.
Can't say I have any scars from basketball, as much as I used to play. Being short, I was always able to avoid the headbutts and elbows involved in jungle ball.
In fact, I don't think I have any scars at all. I'll never get no chicks that way!

I like how you put that. Carefree... I dunno - in my case "crazy and adventerous" would be a better assessment!

Most of mine are from hockey though I have many more broken body parts 7 of my 10 fingers have been broken two of them are crooked still. I had a piece of glass surgically removed from the palm of my hand. I broke my collar bone playing hockey and it is still crooked. I shaved my head last year and I found that I had a 3 inch scar from swimming with my eyes closed when I was about 6 and slamming my head in the wall of the pool at the Y....I have a little scar on my cheek that most people just think is a dimple from falling off my bunk bed as a kid and landing on the corner of the desk(it is a wonder I didn't bust out any teeth) I've broken my nose so many times that I have lost track, one time it was so bad that I started bleeding out of my tear ducts....hmmmm I think that is about it....all I can think of right now anyway....

Let's see if I can recall of amy scars...
- I have a big scar on my right eyebrow, lucky for me you can't see it because the hair hides it pretty well (I got that one when I was just a little kid - YAY for learning to run!)
- when I was about 15 I had the trunk of the car slammed on my head which resulted in a lot of blood and 6 stiches on my forehead and hairline
- racing down a bumpy gravel road when i was 7 (on an adult sized bike I may add) and flying over the handle bars after meeting head on with a particularly big rock caused a beautiful 2 inch scar on my right elbow
- in my later teens I was in a car accident which left me with a lot of scars all over my scalp and face (props to the doc who stiched up my cheek and now you can barely see the scar) when I broke the car window with my head
- my knees have been shedded (right to the bone on a few occasions) so many times I lost count of it
- I had a big pointy shard of glass pulled out from just below of my right bicep which left a big scar
- I have a burn mark on my left hand from when someone handed me a red hot piece of metal to hold (stupid me - I took it from him)
- my left heel has a big scar on it when I went to a public campground bathroom in a drunkenly stupour and the heavy steel door slammed on my foot (sandals are not a good protection)
- I have a variety of camping related scars all over my hands, small cuts and burns mostly (note to self - do NOT pick up logs from a blazing campfire with bare fingers)
- my big toe has a scar from surgery (that would be boring if it wasn't for the fact that the injury to the toe was caused at an improvized mosh pit at a friend's b-day party)
I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember them all at this time. Most of these were caused by my own crazy ideas, so I can't blame anyone else. I guess I can't complain overall, cause most of my injuries healed well and the scars that are left aren't that bad.

Ok, so speaking of scars...I mentioned the circular cut between my eyes that was raised out a bit (called a "keloid) from hitting the bottom step in a swimming pool in New Orleans...well today the MD recut it and removed scooped it out and then sowed it back as a sraight line (so to leave little scarring). So yea, 10 stitches (4 in, 6 out) Kinda hurts now, feels stretched out...but at least I don't look like a cyclops anymore!

I have the same scar. But I got it shaving my eyebrows completely off when I was about 4. What a dumbass, "hey I've seen mommy use that thingy in the tub, let me have a go with it," SLICE!

I had my appendix taken out a few years ago so I've got a gash above my waist line.
I always say its from a knife fight

It's fun to embellish your war wounds. I was just talking with a friend about my latest and she thought cliff diving in Spain sounds much cooler than " I got hit with an elbow playing basketball." Boring. I'll have to come up with a good one for my newbie.

I had my appendix out as well when I was fifteen...but the scar is hairline thin...the doc was a genius with the knife. Actually it was the same doc that stitched up my back from when I fell through the glass table when I was four.
I remember asking him why he did such a good straight job on my appendix scar and such a jagged job on my back. He told me (in his very thick accent) that he designed the scar on my stomach...and I designed the scar on my back!
Anyway I thought it was funny.

I think I was a tough kid...as a grown up now though, I will be the first to admit I am a big wimp.
My mom always comments on how she is so curious to see how I will handle childbirth (not that I will be experiencing that anytime soon!)
