Ok, hopefully that got your attention. It's not really wasps, it's wasp... and it's not really killer, it's actually kind of small. WHAT DO I DO?? He's on my window near the couch I was vegging out on catchign up on season three of the shield! now my uber max and relax mode is ruined. I tried spraying aerasol hairspray at it (hey, it has ether in it!) and that didn't work. Truth be told I'm TERRIFIED of wasps - any ideas how to get rid of it without getting close???

Here is an old trick - when it sits down take a spray bottle and hose it with water - then it can't fly. Once it's grounded.... squish!

haha that sucks...

wasps... not a v. good experience with me. i used to be terrified (my sisters allergic, so i thought that i would get a reaction if i got stung) so i would try to hit them. lets just say that my hand was v. v. swollen for a few weeks.

how to get rid of it?

you're alone there.

12 minute response time! Sheesh. Good thing you're not 911!

I improvised on the water trick - I used Lysol. I know its cruel, but I was thinking of doing it the humanitarian way and as soon as the cup I was gonna use was within about a foot of him I freaked out. Yep hosed it down with bathroom cleaner and it did work. Not sure if it was the liquid or chemicals but I was able to get back to my couch.

Jamie - glad to see that you took care of it. Lysol, eh? That's a clean way to go... I'm allergic to the little buggers, so I freak out when I see one too.

if u turn out the lights and open a window, with the sun shinning through, then he will follow the light source.

Jake makes fun of me for being anal (yes, yes, I said anal). I was going to use over cleaner, but didn't want to have to wash it off..

Nice job with Lysol...that stuff kills almost anything that crawls.

I always go for a rolled up magazine, or a shoe if need be. I have been surprised in the past with spraying a wasp with something and having it just get pissed and come after me. After you smash it with a shoe...it doesn't get up. realizing you do not want to get close to it, though.....that likely isn't an option.

When I used to work at a grocery store, we'd kill roaches by spraying window cleaner (409, Windex, etc) on them. Not sure if it'd work on a wasp, but at least your window would get clean... Otherwise, I'm sure it'd die on its own of starvation within a few days anyways.

Come on you guys it's a freaking wasp not a cobra. Just get a paper towel pick it up, crush it, and flush it down the toilet. Or you could just let it die on its own; those things never live long inside.
