are egyptions arabs or africans? this has been a long running dispute between me and a mate and has often turned into physical fights 9/10 times. but i only got into the argument to piss him off coz he was arguing about it with some1 else so can any1 explain?

Some Arabs are Africans. Some Africans are Arabs. It's not an either/or thing... as Egypt happens to be part of Africa *and* they're an Arab country, people probably identify with both.
However, the West's stereotypical view of "African" people usually does not necessarily include those of Arab heritage. Does that make sense?  In other words, you're both kinda right. But continue pounding each other into the pavement if it suits you.
