I was just curious to how many tpunks are on here while at work all day? Since I've left school and started the new job, I find myself looking through the boards at a 500% increase. All I have to say is thank god for this website!!!

Who hates their office job? And who's counting down to Friday already?

I work in an office but don't hate it at all. I mean sure it would be great to be out traveling but this is my means to get to the traveling really. This is how I save up the loot to get out there.

Is it the job itself you don't like, coworkers or the buisness? I have always been a working kid by instinct i guess and it doesn't really bring me down.

Yeah i work in an office too and i'm a big sufferer of good old mondayitis. It is pretty boring here in the office, everything is literally grey - the walls, the cubicals, the carpet, the desks, just everything. But, i'm pretty grateful i've got such an easy job, it's better than digging holes all day, and the tp boards and planning my next stint of travelling usually keep me amused

Yeah - I have an office job, 9 to 5... and yes, I do check the borads 10 times a day! But no cubicle here, I have a nice office with a view and I like working there. Having cool people around makes it a lot easier and we don't have to dress up either (jeans and a nice t-shirt are just fine).

I think that if you dread going to work each morning, you should change jobs! Why torture yourself? Everyone is good at something, everyone has something thay like to do - so why not make a career out of something you enjoy?

Can you change colors or surroundings any?

I have printed out a panoramic pictures and hung them around my office and stuff to kind of break up any blandness. One guy that I used to work with took wrapping paper and put it up over the walls in his office. It reflected the light toi brighten up the drab some and also got rid of all the boring colors and made it what he liked, his was mostly just all blue.

Just a thought.

i hear ya krazy it just is not always so simple. many people don't live near places that offer tons of different types of jobs, and hel, for awhile there any job was hard to come by.

but back to the cubicle thing....why do they always make offices that dreary gray? i never understood that. are they trying to keep us all from rebelling by zombifieing us all? wow, my spelling is bad 2day.

I personally hate desk jobs, I have to be my own boss. Its just no fun when not in charge and I love to work. I wake up every morning to go to school and every day I count down till Friday. I couldn't imagine feeling this way everday for the rest of my life for my job. Foruteuanlty i graudate in two weeks and the real freedom and possiblites open up.

In answer to Sudz's questions, I'm not particularly fond of the job or the people. I don't absolutely hate my job, but it feels a little pointless at times. I'm a recent grad with a psych degree and the office job pays a lot better than the social work related ones.

Lostfarmboy-do you work in my office? hehe...

No, I don't dread going to work, but I much rather be on a beach having a corona.

Here's a quote from a rookie standup that I found very appropriate except that I've never heard of jagerbombs...

"You know how some people are always saying that life only gets better after college? They're lying. Life gets much, much worse. One moment you're doing jagerbombs in a frat house basement, and next thing you know you're sitting in a cubicle staring at the beanie baby on top of your computer monitor..." -aaron karo

HAHAHA

That is a great quote. Yeah, most of the people I graduated with feel the same way. School was awesome. I probably did more work at college in a week then I do at work, and yet I still managed to go out 3 or 4 nights a week, work out everyday, and have a freakin' blast all the time. Now I stare at a computer all day and do maybe an hours worth of actual work. I go out now and then, but even then it is no way near as fun as a college night out. I am so tired after trying not to fall asleep all day I find it hard to work out. DAMMIT I am going back to school.

And a tip for you college guys out there....DON'T leave college single. Don't do it. The girls disappear after college. I don't know where the hell they are. It's scary.

Thankfully Ole Miss has a ratio of 3 girls to every 1 guy. And if anyone here has ever visited Ole Miss before, i doubt anyone has, then you would know that every girl there is hot as hell. Even the ugly girls are hot. Not to say that is the criteria for dating but it defiantly doesn't hurt. Seriously, I will pay anyone 50 dollars if they can to Ole Miss and point out an ugly girl.

Haha the local uni here has 6 girls to every one guy. Unfortunately i was dumb enough to get a girlfriend in my first year and we stayed together for the whole time i was there

Putting up pictures is a good idea SuDz, when i get back from my around the world trip i'll get a couple of photos enlarged and i'll put them up in my cubical. That'll make it look a whole heap better i reckon.

I'm always taking notes to educated opinions, like yours and LFOD. And I can honestly say I took serious notes on this piece of advice.

good man

spend your first 3 semester testing the waters....not the first 2 years...3 semester...this is key...then settle in with the coolest hottest girl you can find

if you wait 2 years every1 will be doing the same thing and it gets messy

3 semesters and you still get your kicks in, and you get choice of the heard

ok ladies begin the flaming
