Hey everyone
I havnt been around in a couple weeks but I finaly got a new job bartending and I have been out and about renewing the freedom of walking. Also right now im juggling 3 diffrent trips, I have a 3 1/2 month trip to Australia and thailand to finish off what I missed last year, then I am plannin a 4 month trip to Europe next summer but alot of that rotates around me getting world cup tickets or not, Im going with my gf, but then a friend of mine has decided he wants to tag along as well so there will be 3 of us. And then Im also helping another guy plan his trip to Europe next year as well so Im basicly a pro bono travel agent right now lol. Anyways Im gonna be hitting it up alot more then, no worries!
Will

how would one go about getting world cup tickets? that is something that I have always wanted to do (soccer's one of the few sports I actually like to watch) but im not quite sure who you would contact to get these tickets, I mean i know they tend to go on sale fairly early and sellout in like 3 seconds......and how would u get the tickets from north america (in specific canada if anyone knows...)?

Very few tickets go to the supporters of the countries involved. Certainly in the past, most have went to locals, in this case the Germans, and corporate sponsors. That means that lots go on the black market as what German or Chief Executive gives a toss about Paraguay vs Cameroon?
One of my mates went over to France 98 and got tickets very easily for the Scotland - Morocco game outside the ground. We lost that 3-0.
Check out www.fifa.com as I think some have been put on sale. You can also get them through ticket agencies or ebay nearer the time though you obviously have to be very careful. Agencies often sell the tickets months before they have bought them leaving people with a refund and no ticket if they are lucky.
Anyway, being Scottish can I just say that the World Cup is overrated. Meaningless friendlies with countries you haven't heard of is the future.

Wow - way cool S.A. - are you planning to go to Germany in 2006 then?

OurScottish friend is right; it is a little complicated as far as ticket allotment goes.
But as time nears, lemme know as I may be able to find you other avenues to secure tix....
