I went for about six weeks getting pissed out of my mind every night when i first got here. hehe. Takes too much to get me drunk now. I'm down to a few nights a week....

I used to be very "straight edge" but I didn't call myself that. I was president of the Anti-Alcohol/Drug/Etc etc etc club. Then college happened.

I've just started drinking recently (as in my birthday Feb 5th) but I rarely do it...I might have a shot to shut my friends up...they bust my chops all the time for not drinking and being a college student. I smoke occasionally though...maybe once a month...i've been doing it more often lately but I've stopped...I feel stupid smoking.

Meep.

I don't smoke, i don't do drugs (not even pot, even though I live in BC bud territory), but yes I do drink. I definataly go in periods. Sometimes I go in Binges and other times I go on a cleansing spree. I think it's important to stop drinking a few times a year. I notice the difference if I go a few weekends without drinking, just feel so much healthier. But yeah when I go hard, well dayem I go hard!

I threw my best friend a surprise graduation party last night and I'm suffering from a mild hangover today. Something that usually NEVER, EVER happens to me. I don't even think I drank that much last night, but I started with a glass of red wine, which I'm sure was the culprit. *wince*

I'm a bit sick of drink lately, it's all people do on the weekends here and then all that happens is they start fights. The whole drunken Irish fighting with a telephone box is getting old. that's one of the main reasons I want to get out of this town, it's doing my head in.

I still like to drink a few to many on the weekend but alcohol isn't my drug of choice anymore.

you know.... this is a topic close to my heart lately. i've been trying to quit smoking lately (smoked 10 years, quit for 11 mo. when i was pregnant and then after my son was born) and also not drink so much. having a kid and working full time has definately forced me to cut back on drink but when i go out lately (every couple of weeks my mama will watch my kid on fridays) it seems like i can never get away with just drinking a few beers and then home by 11pm. i've gotten to know most people at my locals and they all seem to think it's funny to see how drunk they can get me by shoving various shots of hell in front of me. i'm just not gonna go out for a while and then when i do i'm gonna learn how to politely refuse. the damn bartender at my favorite pub kept giving me so many drinks i didn't ask for that he ended up not charging me at all for the whole night. but anyway, my ability to restrain myself in the face of alcohol is weak. i say RIGHT ON to all those fighting the good fight to remain sober and lung cancer free. i think it's most commendable when you have gone down the road of alcohol and cigs and then have been strong enough to get off it. i can't stand it when people who've never been addicted get all high and mighty about other people's lives... wow, that was longer than i intended

I don't drink very much anymore...usually at shows or if I'm out, and since my wife got pregnant I haven't had a drink.
