Well, Americans are known for being rude. Australians usually seem friendly though...or just drunk?
But, what is a "bint?"

Yeah - not all of us Yanks are complete assholes, I can assure you. Plus, to support what everyone else says......the British accent in general is fantastic. I personally love it. Unfortunately, there are jerks from every country. Being American nowadays....it is not always the greatest thing in the world to be overseas and constantly get barraged by questions and statements about how much Bush sucks etc. But...what can you do? Just grin and bear it and nod your head...lol. Things usually even out in the end, I am sure you will be meeting some really cool people right about....NOW.
and BTW.....I also want to know what a bint is???

That's like assuming all the English Soccer fans I met in Prague during Euro 2004 are the same as all the other English. They were assholes. However I met to many awsome "redcoats" to believe that. We all have our less than ideal representatives. Thing is the U.S. is such a big country our assholes tend to appear in larger numbers. Believe me, they annoy us just as much.

Speak for your self...j/p
Beergal,
The thing about American's that my cousins from Ireland hate is that all we talk about with them is the awsome accent they have for 4 or 5 hours every time they come in town....LOL Now I am not in any way going to make an excuse for those girls but I do understand it. I have seen it many of times here were when my cousin comes in town and the whole night is questions about how do you say ...... and "does everyone have the same accent or is it like in the states with northener's and southern's??" So on and so on.... I guess we are just a curious nation at heart. Just look at it this way if some American pisses you off just tell them to piss off... An if an Aussie pisses you off you always have your history to fall back on to piss them off..LMAO...sorry it had to be said...I was just watching the Simpsons Episode about the Aussies...LMAO
Well my closing remarks are this:
!!!FUCK EM IF THEY CAN'T TAKE A JOKE!!!
Mikie

Ozpacka - Down to the pub, guvna!
Ganeshastuk - You're only the second Californian I've known to use the term "Shakka" - is it a regional thing? One of my buddies from the East Bay Area uses it constantly.

Ha Ha, that's really funny cause I'm from Toronto and I find that a lot of people say "stoked" (myself included)
But yeah Beer Gal, don't worry about em, I think you may have just met the "needle in the haystack x 2" if I may. I've always found Aussies to be cool peeps. and never had a problem with any single american travellers, always found them to be awesome (WORD UP TO MY US BOYS FROM THE PINK PALACE!!)
U know I've been in England for ages and I still love the accent...
and sorry I'm sure who was asking where to find a cockney accent... but in a way... not really but kinda close... is Burt.. from Mary Poppins... although again not a true Cockney accent but it'll give you a vague Idea of what it sounds like..

Yeah lots of people say 'stoked' here too (BC). Nobody has ever made fun of my accent (Canadian....British Columbian? Not very distinct is it...), but that's probably because I've never wandered farther than Alberta. I usually find it to be quite funny when people make fun of Canadian accents. Um, pride, maybe? Anyway Beergal it's easy to get a wee grudge when you've had numerous bad experiences with others, but don't worry about it, there's bad apples everywhere. You'll find some goodies fo sho.
