i'm a supervisor at starbucks coffee (5 years ) they have awesome benefits though (full coverage health insurance for 20 hours a week) and good pay rates (7.50- 9 dollars an hour starting, and then you get raises twice a year).
i'm going to school for environmental studies and hope to drop the starbuck's gig in the next year or so.
good idea for a topic jake.

I worked 4 years in entry level retail managment. Pay sucked, but it worked well around my school schedule so it was ok at first. I was never able to advance, my DM preferred to use me to correct his stores than to promote me so I left. I am back doing quality testing for GM through a tier 1 supplier. The pay is ok, just shy of $11/hr. I get health, dental, vision, and 401k. After 6 months I will get my vacation back. The only trouble with the job is random layoffs when GM doesn't want to work and the heat. But its the best I can find right now. I want to go into business for myself. I am just not sure in what right now. Plus i need to get out of debt.

I work for ze French. I sit on my ass in a cushy office with a view, typing away on TravelPunk all day... beyond that, I'm supposedly the creative guru for the company. That means I get to draw pictures, make videos, produce audio, and come up with ad campaigns between TP posts. And I make a mean pot of coffee.

I'm finishing up my Physical Education and Health degree at University of Toronto. I also am assitant manager for sales and Promotions department of UofT.
And finally I'm an Intern in corporate partnerships for the TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS! dream job
When I'm done school I'm hoping to travel a bit more... but if a job comes up I'll probably take it.. I'm hoping to stay with the Leafs in some way... they only hire internally so I've got a good shot.

I'm eternally a student, hoping to push back getting into the real world with limited vacation as long as possible. I just graduated from college in May and am starting law school, 3 more years of school, next week. Hoping to take a year or two off in between the three years and live or travel abroad, because once I've got that degree, I get to start paying off thousands of dollars of loans.......

Nahhh.....I'm the best eternal student around here, I know!!!
Well, I'm a forest engeneer (that was 4 years in Uni) and now I'm in med shcool (and still 6 more years to go before I graduate)...Which mean I've been a University student for 6 years now, and still 6 years to go...Try to beat that! Hahahah! :greenguy:
But right now I'm unemployed...I decided not to work during my pregnancy...I should have the baby around the beginning of january, and I start school in mid-january. So I just sleep all day and work around our old house (built in 1895), which mean I work a lot!!!! B)
Omisan, does it mean you speak french????

Wow, I just found out my sister and her friend are also both due early next year.
Yes, the baby boom just keeps boomin'! B)
BTW, what is preggers etiquette? Am I supposed to get her a card or a gift or something, now?
1895? Wow, now that's gonna be one looong project!

My full-time job is staffing for catering work at hotels, country clubs, etc. For the most part I like it but it's not at all challenging, except in the capacity of dealing with frustrating people and situations. I stay here because my boss is great and does nice things for me like letting me take 5 weeks off to travel, 4 of which were paid. My second job is catering management for a mid-level private company; mostly that means social events like weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, etc. And mostly it's a bitch and a half (15-hour shifts of physical labor with only a 20 minute break if you're lucky, yay!!) My benefits, besides travel, are limited to medical only. And I haven't had a raise at my full-time job in about 3 years; I haven't complained since I'm damn lucky to still have a that job to begin with. September 11 played hairy carrie [sic, haha] with our industry and it really hasn't recovered -- thanks, GWB.

If Travelpunk were ever hiring to pay people to do, well anything, I think there are dozens of us in line for a job.
I for one would love to travel and "have" to become an expert at it to tell others how to do it and get paid for it. Or any of the many other ideas for the TP name. The dreams... ahhh.
