i absoulutly dislike Justine. everytime i watch Pilot Guides, with her on it, i can hardly sit through the first 5 min. i cant stand how uptight, and unadventurous she is. i was just watching one the other day on Trinidad and Tobago, which i really wanted to see, but couldnt help thinking that i would enjoy this more if they got someone else to host. even that ditzy Megan Mcormick (cant spell her name) would be better. anyway, i'm sorry if she has any fans in the house, but i really needed to get that out.
p.s.- i think we should start some sort of patition to get her out and me in. sound good??

I also love IAN WRIGHT I have watched him for years on Lonely Planet and think he is just awesome... my favourite is when he went to mexico drank a ton of tequila with some locals and past out in the road on the way home. too bad they stopped that show but I love seeing him on tv whenever I can.

I haven't seen many with Justine. But I've seen a ton with that Megan person and I can not stand her. She's not very personable. Again, HOORAH for Ian Wright! That was a good one, MG, still my fav's gotta be when he was in I believe Iqaluit and he was working a dog sled and playing with baby seals...oh the seal part was so cute...yeah. anyway.

ya justine has packed on a few pounds, but thats not why i hate her. she is sooooo uptight and never does any bodget travelling. she always stays in more expensive places, that i could never afford.
I think i would do a better job. if everyone here could just write a letter to the Pilot Guides editor, stating your new preference (ME) that would be super!!

Sorry fellas - all of you :greenguy: - but I totally adore Justine !!!
In the earlier programs (when called lonely planet) she was featured staying in very affordable hostels during her travels, like Southwestern China, Argentina etc..
The latest batch of Globe Trekker episodes (like the recent DC city guide featuring you guys' nemesis - Justine...which i also happen to NOT like BTW...) are highly produced with lots of editing and unique camera positions; all to produce a sharper package. But along the way it loses some of the innocence and "allure" of the original, earlier episodes.
And by the way - do you really think that the Ian Wrights as well as the Megans of this broadcasting teams of Globe Trekker/Lonely planet really live in the cheap hostels with their camera equipments and what not, as they are featured on their travel programmes??
Justine - if you ever read this thread you DO have a fan in me......

I'm kinda lost..whats with the change in names? Lonely Planet to Pilot Guide...and I guess Globe Trekker, although I've never heard of that. I thought Lonely Planet was very thought...full (?)...Is it company changes?

Ive watched a few pilot guides here on our ABC, and i would have to agree that ian wright is the better (read: more entertaining/interesting) of the presenters.
Has anyone watched a program call gerhard reike's wanderlust, or something like that. Hes this german dude that hosts this travel show. More funny than informative, but still its a good watch...

I think I've been out of the loop for a while because I have no idea what this show is. Sounds interesting though. I watched a little bit of TV in Slovakia the other day, that was kinda interesting. Bad 80's american b-movies dubed in slovensky! hahaha
