Default when do you start packing?

When you know you are going somewhere do you pack with weeks in advance after making a prepared list? Do you just say screw it and pack on the day? Do you pack at all?

Probably a day or two before.

The only think I do way in advance is, if I buy new shoes, I need to break them in weeks (at least 2 weeks) in advance to avoid foot blisters from all the upcoming hardcore walking that I'll be doing.

I use one of those travel checklist application and pack 4 days before. Just to make sure I never forget anything!

All the clothes are easy. Hardest part for me, aside from documents and money situated, is always knowing that I'm taking the right kind of shoes for all that walking that I'll be doing.

If I buy a new pair of shoes, I have to spend a week or more of heavy walking in them to break them in good to avoid blisters.
