Default Should Americans give travel advice??

Yes!! Goddamnit! We should definitely be giving travel advice because we are raised to think we are the "end all and be all". We're raised to think that the rest of the world revolves around us. That is exactly why we should be counted on to give travel advice. Check that, that is exactly why those of us who have travelled should be relied on to give travel advice. I was already one of the more forward thinking Americans I know(hence my addition to this website) before I travelled. I soon learned that I knew very little and when I did actually travel abroad I learned quickly that I knew nothing. The world seems very small these days as evidenced by the fact that, even though I don't necessarily mean to, I'm speaking to people thousands of miles away from me. The biggest lesson I've gotten from travelling(14 countries so far) is that I know very....very little. There is so much more to learn. And even if you see 2 or 3 times as many places as me I dare you to think differently. If not, chances are you didn't get it. I made an innocent comment on facebook recently about a San Diego Padres pitcher who was pretty much guaranteed to get traded by the trade deadline(baseball for those who don't know) and he was, at 32 years old, racing to get his passport in case he got traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, or a team that played them. It didn't end up happening that way but it emphasized travel so much. I loved it. Tasmanian devil says it best

Regardless of nationality I think we should all be giving travel advice to help those in need of it. Its what I love about this family of ours, we are always there to give travel advice.
