I am going to be in San Sebastion this summer (july, on the way to the running of the bulls) and I was wondering what the surf is like, or if there was even beach there... I dont plan on straping my surf board to my back pack and cruizing Europe with it, only to use it once. But hopefully I could buddy up to a local with a board, or rent one... maybe.

If you can hit the south of France (Biarrtz) there is some really good surf all along the south west coast... The summer is the flat time but I've heard the waves are still decent... especially if surfing isn't your primary focus and just wanna get out there. I'm probably going there myself this summer (depending on my knee) and I'm fairly stoked.

I've never tried to surf before, but I'm gonna give it a go this year when I'm in oz. I'm sure I'll be falling off 99% of the time!
