we both live in seattle and were checking out places to zorb here, BUT unfortunately there is only one place in the states to zorb. does anyone else know anything about this?

another site that we found was:

it was in a Jackie chan movie but I can't remember which one. I've been wanting to do it since I saw that way back when!

there's a few places to do it in new zealand... it does look incredibly cool but the place in new zealand we saw it at (the original place where they first started doing it) was charging I think almost $200 to 'zorb' about 60m down a hill...
you can do it on 'wash cycle' when they don't strap you in and chuck a bucket of water in with you

^ yea! I saw that! looks like it takes less muscle strength since you aren't bracing yourself. not to mention probably a fantastic ride just rolling around in your own private wet 'n' wild.

i might have to take a trip. i want to go hike abroad once i finish my degree in next year. i was thinking about new zealand and then someone mentioned zorbing. i hope i'm not falling into some tourist trap.

I wish I'd gone zorbing when we went to NZ, but I was fast running out of money! My boyfriend had already done it when he went to NZ a few years previously (I can't remember which town in though) and he really enjoyed it. I think he did the wash cycle. He said it was lots of fun!!

yeah it's pretty popular in nz..I've not done it though. It's funny what kind of 'adventure' activities they come up with in nz. Have you heard of sledging http://www.kaitiaki.co.nz/sledging.php . Instead of rafting in a boat you are basically doing it on a paddle board. Faaareaky..I've seen ppl do it (while i was in my raft boat) and they were being tossed around like crazy. It's funny whenever I see things like that I always think "what about my contact lenses?"

Yea they do it in Rotorua in NZ - i think wally (thesasquatch) did it when he was here? It looks like heaps of fun, although its not that cheap - i think about $50NZD+ per time? It would be pretty awesome though!! I'm going to Rotorua over the holidays and was thinking about doing it depending on how much $$ we have!

NZ Has some awesome scenery etc that would make for great hiking! Come here when you finish your degree!

I have done it,its expensive and its over quick but thats the way NZ is. If you realy really wanna do it more than anything in the world then I say go for it, other then that steer clear, cause its not really that much of a rush. its a good laugh but thats about it. I would say its extreme sports for the ones who dont wanna sky dive and bungee

i second wills, its fun but short and i wouldnt call it extreme as such. i did a wet zorb with a mate whilst we were in rotorua and we just sora slid around and took each other out as we tried to run down the hill, it may've come along a little however because it is a few years since i did it. If ya keen for zorbing however rotorua/nz might not be a bad idea as bthere are a bunch of similar kinda activities that are a blast
