I have been on my computer constantly for two weeks now going nuts (ok...crazier). Between booking a flight (found a good one here i think, $408 from NYC to A-dam) trying to figure out which rail pass i need (10 in 2 months, 5 in 1 month, 7 in 15 days as a combo for 5 countires or the all purpose 1000 days in 4 eons???) trying to figure out just how much I can spend a day (50 bucks, 40 Euros, 14 million korunas, a bushell of Krones?) and worrying about stupid stuff like how much time i can spend in each city before i am told to leave and how I'll know if I am getting on a train that my passes work for OR the school bus for the challenged! I am going nuts here, i hate all this planning stuff...Especially when it comes to the economics....I am stressing myself out....time for a glass of wine and maybe a little pull of the happy pipe (hey, i've gone 13 days without a cigarette and that's good for me, but who would i be to deprive my lungs of any smoke what-so-ever?) sorry about the rant, laugh on pros, sure you went through the same stuff...good night

I hear you man. Its pretty overwhelming. I guess in the end you just have to be decisive and hope that its the right choice. Its all a learning process. Best of luck

Hey CC - it's no ranting at all! Glad you could share. Hey, I totally understand about the pre-travel stressors! It's so normal! Looks like you're thinking about all the right things. Hmmm... when it comes to the rail ticket, just get the one that will give you most flexibility and some cushion. Once you start to travel, you'll probably desire to go to more places than you initially set out to, so having some flex. and cushion there will help you. But at the end, the rail ticket it's just one of your main transport tools, you can buy country tickets once you're there, or take the bus, ferry or find a cheap euro. flight, so your whole means of mobility does not hang on your puchase of the rail ticket now. So, don't let it hang too much over your head! Enjoy!

Hey Craig,

I know EXACTLY how you are feeling. I'm pretty much going through the same thing...which eurail pass to get? which backpack? how much do I need to plan? how much money? I'm constantly on my computer, partly because I happen to have alot of free time at work, and partly because I just can't wait to leave! But on the bright side of things, planning is part of the fun, and once you get there it will all be worth it! Try not to stress too much, but don't worry, you're not the only one!! :wine:
