Default The rolling stones will fund my trip to Finland

Just got the call at lunch that I'll be doing security for the rolling stones gig at slaine castle this weekend. Never done this kind of work before, met the guy that does security work at these gigs last weekend (drunk as a lord) and signed meself up. The best thing is I'll get a big wack of money for it and here was me thinking my overspending over the race week/town festival had ment my trip would have to be canceled.

That's great, enjoy listening to some music, being able to tell people what to do/not to do, AND getting paid for it!

Nice!

So does working security for the Stones mean making sure there aren't slick surfaces for their wheelchairs to slip on?

Gig went great I got put into the stones dressing room!! Got to meet them all, even held the door open for them as they where getting the car to the stage. fairly boring job though lots of standing around doing nothing. They spent most of their time in their separate dressing rooms except for the drummer guy he kept going around cleaning things (apparently he's got ocd). I don't think they talk to each other much though.

Good experience, pure luck getting into the dressing room but I don't think I'd do it again. 3:30am on Saturday morning till 4am Sunday morning.

Oh but look at the money you made! That's awesome...kinda funny the drummer was walking around cleaning things. I would have been tempted to make a joke and tell him my shoes were dirty and he could shine them for me...

I wanted to throw a bit of moss on the ground, when he tried to pick it up I was going to stop him and say "no, no you can't do that. A rolling stone gathers no moss". That lame joke kept me entertained for a good five minutes that day.

Haven't got payed any money yet, I hope yerman didn't take me seriously when I said I'd do it for free. I was drunk like. The others working at it said it usually takes two weeks for the money to come through.
