Default travel blogs and photos

OK so i finally want to get organised, and start a proper travel blog and photo viewer.

ive seen worldwidemikes and freespiritz and i love them both - clear, concise and functional while being nice and personal also.

where is the best place to start a travel blog? do you pay? i want to be able to write blogs and put photos on it. and have comments and stuff.

thanks people!

and link me to your blogs so i can have a look.

There's a lot of options for blogs online: here's another thread about it: http://www.travelpunk.com/boards/sho...ighlight=blogs

In addition to the boards, hostel booking, and budget info Tpunk also offers blogs: http://www.travelpunk.com/blogs/

A lot of people host their own site; which is more work but usually pages are ad-free and you can do whatever you like with it. I use a hosting service, called freewebs.com, but I pay for unlimited files and uploads in addition to other features.

If you looking for something easy to maintain (which is key when on the road) then here's some other blog sites:
www.getjealous.com (I have my own account here that I use; free accounts only allow 30 photos; site is dedicated to travel so you can make neat little trip maps with arrows and such)
www.travelpod.com (Very nice travel blogs selection w/ umlimited uploads)
www.blogger.com (The grand-daddy of blogging; there's a photo limit here as well)
www.xanga.com (Like blogger)
www.livejournal.com (Another big blog site)

There's a lot of different ones but I'd stick to the three travel related ones: tpunk, getjealous or travelpod.
My getjealous one is: http://www.getjealous.com/wheresamber
My personal site is: http://www.wheresamber.com

I constantly search and read other peoples travel blogs. Most are terribble but I've had most luck at travelpod.com. The only downside to there blogs is sometimes its tough to search for specifics about a traveller when looking for blogs. Other than that though the setup and visuals are very nice.

Cool! I need to get one of those! I juggle between bloggler, myspace, photobucket, etc. It looks like that would be a one-size fits all solution!

I did finally get my NZ Montage video uploaded and on my site:

Now I just need to get all my other crap organized! I will definitely check out some of those sites - travelpod looks like a good fit! Thanks for the posts...
