Default Countdown jitters....

Sooooo... I just hit the "9 days 'til I leave" mark. And I'm having terribly mixed feelings. On the one hand I can't believe it. Then I just totally panick at what I still have left to do. Then I just kick back and let it be... and right now I'm totally freaked out!! I'm going alone for 35 days... and I know I'll meet people over there, and I am visiting a couple of friends too... but I still feel a bit freaked out.

I was bored and just stuck everything in my backpack (70lts) and it weights about 12/13 kilos total. What do you guys think??

Your opinions are more than appreciated!!

I know exactly how you feel. I think we all get that to some extent before a trip. The most jitters for me is immediately upon arrival and the first night. I call it the "first day in Europe feeling" when I get it stateside (usually happens when I am called out of my warm comfortable bed at 3am unexpectedly)

It's probably a good thing. I didn't get extremely jittery before I left but I didn't really know what I was getting myself into, I did no research didn't know where I was going or how long I was staying. It wasn't until I was in the foreign country in a small town in Portugal trying to get to Spain with no idea what I was doing that panic set in.

I think I would have preferred well educated jitters over "where the fuck am I, what the hell am I doing", panic any day. If a fool like me can survive you'll be fine.

I feel ya Flo. I love the week of jitters and butterflies in the stomach, wierdly adds to the excitement. Your pack weight sounds good. You should throw it on and go for a couple mile stroll with it. See how it feels and go ahead and get your travels legs going. I'm so excited for you. Have a blast and be safe

No need to feel jitters unless they're jitters of excitement. One more week and you'll be out having the time of your life!
