So it turns out that I won't be teaching English. not for me. TEFL Course has been abandoned.

I am heading back stateside for a while. No job, no money, but I do have a car...

I am not sure what I will do, where I will go, and at the moment don't really care.

And so it ends. I should be back around april 24th-ish.

Trying to sort a ticket now. Its the Thai New Year (Songkran) so everything is closed.

Not sure where I will end up. I will be in Atlanta for a bit but we will see how it goes from there. I will probably be found in a bar somewhere along the way...

Ok I got my tickets booked. I will be in LA from April 24-May 1. I am staying with a friend in Hollywood. His birthday also happens to be that week.

Then I head off to Jacksonville where my dad will pick me up. I will go home for a bit and get my car/stuff and start the job hunt. Most likely back to Atlanta or maybe Cali if I like it there and find work. Who knows!?!

Matt: I will definitely take a weekend trip up there bro! We can knock back a few beers and whatnot!

Here is how I decided to not become an English teacher:

After looking at exactly what the job would entail I could not see myself doing it 40 hours a week for $900 a month. Even if they tripled the money I would still not enjoy it at all. I decided to get out now and cut my losses. I would have had at least 50 kids in a class and they would know 0 english. I had the impression that I would be teaching intermediate to advanced level conversation and not starting from 0. I also had the chance to observe a teacher in action and decided then and there that "I cannot see myself doing this full time and enjoying it."

So there you have it.

it takes a lot to pack up and go home when you've already made plans, and told everyone about how great the plan is... it's exactly what i did in london, and while i would love to be in london right now, i'm sooo glad i came home, it was the right thing to do. well done on being decisive... oh and when i got home i got sick of people asking me why i was home early, so i just stopped ringing my old friends and concentrated on my new friends at uni. but now one of my old friends is serving in east timor and i feel really bad for not having talked to him before he left. so don't ignore your friends, no matter how many annoying questions they ask!
