I am an idiot. I admit it. I brought my passport with me to use as photo ID on my visit home to California. That alone is probably excusable, but not so when I RAN IT THROUGH THE WASHER. I have two distinct pieces of passport now. I went out yesterday and paid to have my replacement expidited, since my trip is 26 days away. What a pain in the ass. Now I have to see if they'll let me on the plane back to Boston with my wrecked passport. Also, I got charged about $183 for all the fees involved. Well, that just blew.

hey, i loved the title...
but i'm really sorry to hear that lindoro - that does totally suck, $183!
too bad it's not like a $20 bill you can just throw in the microwave and dry...
in the grand scheme of things though - forget it - you've got a renault!!

Dude... don't you know you are supposed to keep your passport on your person at all times....

But dude, that sucks total ass. I would have used several foul words to describe that situation. Just keep your eye on the prize and hope that this is the worst of your problems.

Dude, sorry about your drama ...its just one of those minor set backs though...183$ is noth'n comapred to the loss of experience if you did not go on your trip :-) ... Just trying to find a bright side...

bugger eh! Not good buddy, but as said lucky now and not later. I seem to run ear plugs thru the washer frequently after leaving them in my shorts after work, although finding cash at the bottom of the washer is the best!

Wish I could find cash in the bottom of the washer, but I'm afraid lucky things like that just dont seem to happen to me! Not when I'm skint anyway!
When I left school a few of us girlies went on holiday to Malta but 2 days before the trip I realised my passport was out of date! Had to travel half the country to get a new one in time! Oh joys! But it was a wicked trip so well worth the hassle!

Yeah it's fresh as a morning freaking spring.

Thanks for all the responses. They really *do* make me feel better. You should have heard the colorful language I used when I first found it, though. I feel most guilty because I was home visiting all my little brothers and sisters.

"Mother f**king c**k sucking son of a god damn b***h!!!! ARGGHHH!"

For future reference for others-- the US Passport Agencies (10 of them nationwide) *can* actually issue a passport on 24 hours notice if you show them proof of impending travel. That does NOT include domestic travel, unfortunately, so I have to wait two weeks for mine.

I'm impressed by your ability to string all of those together, my attempt would probably be "S**T!"

DUDE, I kno how u feel same thing happened to me,I took my dads passport to austria instead of mine , i was goin on a school skiing trip, all set ready to go, but the night befor i had lost the goddam passport, after 5 hours of searching i discovered i threw my 5 day year old new passport away in stead of the old one!!, i would have had a look in the trash but the binmen had been that day !!! so i went to the club with my dad, and got the big teacher incharge of the trip round our house (next door to the club) and we told him the situation, and surprisingly he sed that i still could go, so i took My dads passport, it was like a freakin conspiracy dude when the teacher hoos group i was in saw my dads passport he went to the Head of the trip dude, who told him to keep Kaput (a great guy), so it was all fine until entering france, we went through customs and i was a bit nervous, (but hay i was young with a high imagination) and the first coach got pulled over, OMG!! i almost died until i realised that we we through without being checked phew, had a great trip, love skiing, wanna go again, school dont take me anywhere no more as i'm seen as a international liabiltiy!!
<-at the time <- on the whole trip, apart from the two times we went through customs lol

so take ur dads if that helps
