Help me T-Punks, the travel experts
I could not think of a better group of people to help me with my research project for my MBA project. I am conducting primary research on a topic that is relavant to the site (can't say or else the research will not be entirely random). If you have 5 minutes, and we all do, copy and paste the entire link //www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB2268ECCSGSL
I am trying to get 150 responses in 10 days so I need your guys help.
Also, if you have been on a cruise before and have positive or negative comments, post them here and start a dialog. That would help me as well.
Thanks Tpunks and I will return the favor when you ask it of me.

I filled out the survey. Cruises seem like something families or retired people do. Since I usually travel alone, I get the impression it would be pretty lame. Of course, I guess it would be a cool way to relax for a week without having to deal with anything...
If someone gave me a free pass I'd go.

Didn't work for me, I'll try again later.
As for cruises, I've done one, when I was 18.
We left NYC to Bermuda, and had a lotta fun. For an 18-year old snot-nosed punk kid that hadn't been out of the country before it was really cool. All things said and done, I would do it again, but I prefer the adventure travel segment of the marketplace. That said, I wouldn't occasionally mind being pampered with 4-star meals and all the luxuries of my favorite ultra-high end hotel, assuming I had one.
Cruises are good in the sense that all is included with your ticket (except booze!), so you don't have to worry about anything.

I took the survey. Haven't ever been on a cruise though and don't think I will for a while-- I would rather have more freedom and at this point in life it seems like a waste of resources!

Done. The inclusiveness would be the draw, but I live in Florida where it's hot and sunny so if i want all the comforts of home I can just stay home! Europe here I come. Without a whole lot of money...

Done, but I hate cruises. Went on 4 in my teens, they were ok, but as an adult, no way. And who takes a 7 day vacation?

who takes a 7 day vacation" I agree with ya, but most people do only take 7 day vacations...or at least according to the survey, 42% of 130 respondents only get 10-14 days of vacation a year

And that is why I refuse to conform to corporate America. I need at least 30-45 days off throughout the year. I feel sorry for the folks who are so limited with time off.

Awww, sometimes I only take a 7 day vacation. My next one was supposed to be longer, but I've never flown to Asia before, so my naivete shows in the ratio of travel time to actual "field time."
I would go on a cruise - if it would help hook me a loaded *mature* hottie with lots of $$$ and nobody to spend it on. Kid-ding. I can't imagine the ship-bound time. I'd be like "omg, wanna get off the boat, wanna get off the boat, are we getting off the boat, in the middle of nowhere, offoffoff the boat." It seems like a saturated den of things that I only like to do occasionally (clubbing, fine dining, shuffleboard, bingo, gym-workouts).
Hey, lilchappy, when you get your MBA open up a cruise line that has dive bars, coffee houses, a climbing wall and greasy ethnic food or a common kitchen and I'd be game!

^Yeah, unfortunately these days my vacations are limited to about a week. I have sold half my soul to corporate America (but only half). I think I am going to head to Asia soon for a break as I may be changing jobs soon. The trip may be around 10 days in total, but part of the time is spent in the air, so its really only like 8 days on the ground. Oh well, if I play my cards right I hope to get to a point some day where I don't have to work much any more and still be semi-young enough to enjoy it. Then I can go open up a guesthouse in Thailand and watch the sun set over the ocean every night.
I love the idea about a cruise ship with dive bars and coffee houses (that include excellent appropriate bands for each). We should get on that, pronto!

Good one DC-jess. I like that idea. A smaller cruise ship, say 500 people, that sails around the world, has a common kitchen, relaxed rules on what your allowed to bring on the ship (alcohol and food), and at each stop/country the ship comes twice. So if you want to get off the ship for 2 weeks, and catch the ship when it comes back through the city on the way back home, your free to do so.
It is too bad I do not have 500 million to drop on a ship for T-Punks and myself.
