wow a lot of you guys have really interesting lives, recently I took a job putting tupperware in boxes for wal-mart. i get paid a silly amount of money for the relative amount of work I preform. but the hours are ridiculous so they have a crazy high turn over rate i do 12 hour rotating shifts.
I really would prefer a more challenging job, but it has been tricky due to the lack of stabilty caused by the last few years of travel. so this one was easy, to get. aside from be absolutely mind numbing, this one does give me weekends off and three-four day break every couple of weeks. and as an added bonus i dont have to talk to customers or co-workers

I work at a factory putting containers on a conveyor belt and loading and unloading pallets. Not the most exiting job I've ever had but not the worst either.

I just got a job today, so I'm pretty pleased!
It will be in the Child Protection Unit of the police, and will involve me logging reports of child abuse, and writing up condensed versions of the report on the police database. I will also have to chase up the relevant people to make sure that the case is dealt with.
Apparently the subject matter is pretty grissly, and it's pretty faced paced. I'm shitting myself. I start Monday. It's only temporary, for a definite 6 week period, with the possibility of extending until May.

I have been a student for the past 2 years and have recently taken a 4 month break working as an administrative assistant. Currently starting a new stint in Melbourne, studying photography. Looks like I will be studying for the next 2 years

Right now I'm a second-year student at Bates College, Maine. Majoring in studio art. To get my little pocket money I work as a Scenic Artist in the theater shop - painting, power tools and carpentry. I've done a few freelance house painting jobs, and am currently hoping to score a gig as a promo photographer for my college's community service center.

What do I do? I'm an analyst for the Army with 82nd ABN DIV and after that I have a position lined up with a federal agency doing the same thing, contracted from the Army. Woo hoo.

Another Buffett fan from Ohio? What the hell? :D
Since my post is somewhere buried in this, I'll update:
I am the official TP Kitchen Pirate, but I'll add a new title: Debrouillard. Anyone wanna take a stab at that one?

I graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering but am doing server support and software testing. I'm going back to get my Masters or at least enough classes so that if my company pulls the plug on me, I can get a gig elsewhere. If that happens before summer, I will be backpacking until fall.

My stab is that your new job is making up words to confuse people.

Sow's ear = silk purse. I know how. For more info, send a self-addressed stamped envelope plus $50 to me.

That's awesome. I had a friend in high school that would send out these mass emails to everyone with some kind of either sob story or business scheme that he would make up. Totally and completely ridiculous every single one of them but at the end he would put "please send your donation to" and then his name and address and it never failed to get us all laughing our asses off. Thanks for the memories jokes...

Hmmm, maybe I should become a professional get-rich-quick-guy. Advertising on cable TV late at night... "Do you want financial independance? Invest wisely! Ask me how!"
Wonder what the reaction would be when I send them the little pamphlet and its advise goes as follows.
1. Take half your money, bury it in the backyard.
2. Take your other half, and go to dog track. Bet it on the one that pisses right before he runs.

My wife and I are both Massage Therapists. 6 years, 4 with an Aveda Spa. We also do and teach yoga, and Thai Yoga, and Fijian barefoot style massage.

I suppose you guys are so sick of giving other people massages you don't give each other ones? I always dreamed of dating a massage therapist... until I did and found out he refused REFUSED to give me a massage because he did it all day. /pouts. Took all the fun out of it.
I am a full time student and a full time personal care worker for two amazing ladies with developmental disabilities. I am horribly burned out though as I have been doing it for 3 years: which means from Friday night until Monday morning I work there... ever weekend... all day.. all night... I have no life.....
