Its ok! Have some tea and crackers and watch some shitty tv. Greasy food helps too. Sometimes a smoke. There's nothing a smoke can't fix. Or a joint.
On the flip side, the best is when you drink all manner of things in large quantities and get roaringly smashed and wake up bright and perky the next morning. Its like free parking.

I couldn't agree more. You know it's bad when you'll drive 5 miles through Chicago traffic because the only thing you want is Mexican food and you have your favorite restaurant. It's funny how at the beginning of the night, you think an open bar is a wonderful thing. The next morning you think it's the worse idea ever. But, a never empty glass of cab and all the mai tais I wanted sounded like a good thing. Mmmm... mai tais....

I'm an OJ drinker in the morning if I've got a hangover. Fruit juice in general does wonders, though I'm not one to refuse a joint a la bellelass

Hey Jamie, I didn't realize you were in Chicago. I've been here since Tuesday and I leave tomorrow. If you're free tomorrow evening, maybe we can grab a pint at someplace close to Union Station! My train leaves out at 7:55 PM, so I'm gonna try to get there around 7. I'll also PM you.

This thread is puuurrrrfect.

I've worked 34 hours in the past two days and tonight when I finally got back to the Stadium Ops office my boss had 4 cases of beer for 6 of us. We had a HUGE city event today that we ran amazingly well so to end the night those of us who setup/ran/toredown the fucker got tanked.

Great way to end a long day of working. To sit in a an empty major league stadium watching the stars circle getting tanked with your boss and a few buddies having some crazy laughs.

Ahhh, my specialty.

Jeanie, I have hangovers that are the stuff of legends. However, the best cure is a few glasses of Cranberry juice (pure stuff) and ginger ale. Ginger opens the nose up, the cranberry rehydrates and flushes the kidneys.

And no, they are not for sissies. But heres a helpful hint:

Drink top shelf all night and the hangover is almost non-existant. But don't mix dark and light... bad news no matter what!

This assumes that after the bender you have any left.

But I will agree. Hair of the dog makes it a bit easier to bear. I used to pay bartenders in cheeseburgers for Irish Coffee on Sundays.

add OJ to your booze for a hangover... drink it real quick... eat a greasy brekky, and the curl back up under some warm blankets and go back to sleep!!!

Once upon a time, i would work out early AM after a long drinking session. Nothing avoids the hangover by sweating the toxins outta your system.

Though it sucked for anyone around me because I smelled like the Tanqueray distillery!

That's how the night started. Full of good intentions. But once that Knob Creek or Maker's Mark has lovingly altered your decision making process? Discretion-- as far as choices in booze, thankfully not other things-- goes right out the window.

Bourbon gave way to two Washington Apples and a shot of Wild Turkey... I was hoisted by my belt loops into my friend's house.

Ah well. Fortunately, my hangovers don't last very long and they're not that intense, so by the time I got to work at 3:30pm to pull a 13-hour-shift bartending for the Microsoft Windows Holiday Party at Benaroya Hall-- I felt just fine. It may have had something to do with the Excedrin I took though.

I'm a big fan of Pedialyte or better yet, an IV, and some aspirin and coffee... (excedrin has the caffeine, but I prefer my delivery system better)

Yeah, an IV is great... save that whole needle-inserted-under-my-skin thing...

Drink several glasses of water before you crash out completely that night, and the hangover isn't so bad in the morning. Dehydration sucks ass.

Combat Lifesaver bags rock!!! (and after the first 20 minute hangover cure, you don't get quite so squeamish over the needles the next time)
