Tomorrow is the mid-term election. Once again it is the opportunity to either support the status quo or force a change in our government. I encourage everyone to get out and vote. I don't care who you vote for, but vote. Exercise your democratic right. It's a turbulent time with more issues than you can count and everyone's voice needs to be heard. If you care about what's happening in this country, get off your ass and get out there!!

In away I do in away I don't. I will say this though-if 16 year olds can't vote then they should not have to pay any kind of taxes.

Yeah that's how I want to be recognized, as an independent.
I am a registered republican though. That's what you get when you grow up in my family and let your parents help you fill out your first voter registration card. That was of course four years ago and tons has changed since then. I am pretty sure there was only one republican who got my vote this round and he's the state treasurer or some other such nonsense but his challenger for the job looked like a moron.
It's kind of crappy because several of my votes went to libertarians who won't get the positions for lack of advertising funding but believe me when I say I am no libertarian either. I certainly do hate our two party system though. It's time for some green/libertarian party takeover action.
I also must say that I absolutely love the grassroots project that is working it's way up in colorado. I would love to see that state make it legal to carry an ounce. It's about time that truth about marijuana started working it's way into the heads of older people in charge of things. We could stop our idiotic war on potheads and start doing something important, like smoking more...

I'm probably voting Libertarian this year. I'll review who is running this year. I left the Republican party when Dole was nominated and I grew up in a serious and one of the rare Irish Republican families in Massachusetts. I know what you are talking about Jake.
Voting is serious business.

yes please do vote! I'm a strange one when it comes to political views and to be honest you americans have some poor politicians to choose from! But i think we all agree the republicans need a kick up da ass!
Hehe, I like those "you Cruz you lose" commercials. I registered Libertarian this year. Unfortunatley I now think that means I can only vote Libertarian.
In the majority of the states, your party affiliation means you can only vote for that party in the primary election. If your party doesn't field a candidate (third parties, specifically) then you do not vote for anyone in that specific office.
Registering as an independant, libertarian, etc as a result is a wasted vote since the Primary determines who EVERYONE votes for.
Regardless of party affiliation, every registered voter can vote for any party's candidate in the General.
As for me, I am a Civil Libertarian, but a registered Republican. Years ago when I first registered, my personal beliefs were in less government involvement in our daily lives, but with a strong national defense and foreign policy. Until a viable field of CL candidates are fielded that aren't kooks, (Seriously, the majority of the CL candidates I've seen over the years are nutjobs), or the mainstream Democrats abandon the moonbats on the extreme left, I don't see changing my party affiliation.
Regardless... VOTE!!! If you don't, you don't have the right to complain.
As for Julia's question: No. Voting is a right reserved for adults. Sorry kiddo. Whole other can o'worms.

I voted. No Libertarian candidates in Massachusetts. There were lots of Green Party candidates running for statewide offices. Most people ran unapposed and they were almost all Democrats. It should be interesting to see who wins.
